Dark Dream (foaled 30 October 2014) is a Thoroughbred racehorse trained and bred in Australia. He won the Queensland Derby, a Group One race, and has won over half a million dollars. Career Australia Dark Dream had his first race 21 November 2017, starting as a $15 outsider. Breaking his maiden on debut, he collected $16710 winnings. His next two races were seconds at Kembla Grange and Royal Randwick. Dark Dream had his next win on a Friday night at Canterbury Park in January 2018. With betting opening at $3.50, he jumped as $1.60 favourite, winning by a length and a half. Returning in March 2018, Dark Dream had two seconds before travelling to Brisbane to race in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic, where, "he charged hard late before missing by just 0.1L. Red Ransom
Red Ransom (foaled 1987 in Virginia, died 2009) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse. In his 2006 book ''Designing Speed in the Racehorse'', author Ken McLean wrote that Red Ransom "was a sensationally fast juvenile." Bred by Paul Mellon and raced under his Rokeby Stables banner, he was sired by the 1972 Epsom Derby winner, Roberto. His dam was Arabia, a daughter of U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee, Damascus. Conditioned for racing by Hall of Fame trainer, MacKenzie Miller, on August 3, 1989 the two-year-old Red Ransom won his debut race while setting a new Saratoga Race Course record for five furlongs. He made his second start in early September at Belmont Park, scoring another win in a six furlong allowance race. However, the colt suffered an injury to a shin that kept him out of racing until early March 1990. Hong Kong Derby
The Hong Kong Derby is a Hong Kong Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1873. Restricted to horses four-years-old only since 1981, the race is run in mid-March and is the premier event on the domestic racing programme with a purse of HK$18 million (app. US$2.3 million). This race is the last race in the Hong Kong Four-Year-Old Classic Series. The first Hong Kong Derby was raced at Happy Valley Racecourse but in 1979 was transferred permanently to its present location at Sha Tin Racecourse. Hong Kong Champions & Chater Cup is a Hong Kong Thoroughbred horse race held annually in late May or early June at Sha Tin Racecourse. A Group One race that offers a purse of HK$12,000,000, it is run on turf over a distance of 2400 meters (prior to 1995 it was disputed over 2200 meters and prior to 1992 over 1800 meters) and is open to horses three years of age and older. The third leg of the Hong Kong Triple Crown, it follows the Steward's Cup in January and the Hong Kong Gold Cup in February. The Hong Kong Champions & Chater Cup was first run in 1870 as "The Champion Stakes" but would become known as "The Chater Cup" in honor of renowned Hong Kong businessman and racehorse owner, Sir Paul Chater. Queen Elizabeth II Cup
The Queen Elizabeth II Cup is a Group One Thoroughbred horse race at Sha Tin Racecourse in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Established in 1975 by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, it is run annually in April at a distance of 2,000 metres (ten furlongs) on turf. Prior to 1997 it was run at 2,200 metres (eleven furlongs). Sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet since 1999, it currently offers a purse of HK$20 million (US$2.6 million)since 2014/15. Zac Purton
Zac Purton (born 3 January 1983) is a horse racing jockey. He won the Brisbane jockeys' premiership as an apprentice in 2003, moved to Sydney and was quickly amongst the top jockeys there before he began his Hong Kong career in 2007/08. In the 2013/14 season, Purton ended the 13-year championship reign of Douglas Whyte, becoming the first Australian jockey to win the Hong Kong title since Noel Barker in 1991. . (112 wins).
