Darius James
Darius James (aka Dr. Snakeskin, born 1954) is an African-American author and performance artist. He is the author of ''That's Blaxploitation: Roots of the Baadasssss 'Tude (Rated X by an All-Whyte Jury)'', an unorthodox, semi-autobiographical history of the blaxploitation film genre, and '' Negrophobia: An Urban Parable'', a satirical novel written in screenplay form. His work is influenced by the Voodoo religion. James lives in Hamden, Connecticut. He appeared in the 2006 film ''Black Deutschland''. He co-wrote and appeared in a feature-length film released in 2013, ''The United States of Hoodoo''. An author is the writer of a book, article, play, mostly written work. A broader definition of the word "author" states: "''An author is "the person who originated or gave existence to anything" and whose authorship determines responsibility for what was created''." African Americans (also referred to as Black Americans and Afro-Americans) are an ethnic group consisting of Americans with partial or total ancestry from sub-Saharan Africa. Closet Screenplay
Related to closet drama, a closet screenplay is a screenplay intended not to be produced/performed but instead to be read by a solitary reader or, sometimes, out loud in a small group. While any published, or simply read, screenplay might reasonably be considered a "closet screenplay," 20th- and 21st-century Japanese and Western writers have created a handful of film scripts expressly intended to be read rather than produced/performed. This class of prose fiction written in screenplay form is perhaps the most precise example of the closet screenplay.
