''Dare To Dream'' is the second studio album by the Serbian Irish folk/Celtic rock band Irish Stew of Sindidun, released on Saint Patrick's Day in 2008. Having finished promoting their first album, the band started writing new material which was released in 2008. ''Dare To Dream'' featured ten original songs and cover versions of two traditional Irish folk songs. A promotional video was recorded for the song "Ditch" in March 2009. The Celtic punk fan site shitenonions.com ranked the album the fifth best release of 2008. Irish Stew Of Sindidun
Irish Stew of Sindidun (often referred to as Irish Stew only) is a Serbian Celtic rock band from Belgrade. While initially playing Irish folk music, the band later made a shift towards light punk rock, inspired by Irish folk music and other genres. Beside their own songs, the band performs covers of Irish traditional songs and songs by The Pogues. History 2000s The first ideas of forming an Irish folk band came up in 2002, when Bojan Petrović (lead vocals, tin whistles) and Nenad Gavrilov (acoustic guitar, backing vocals), both fans of Irish music, decided to start playing together. Carrickfergus (song)
"Carrickfergus" is an Irish folk song, named after the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The Clancy Brothers' 1964 album titled "The First Hurrah!" includes this title. A somewhat differing version was released under the name "The Kerry Boatman", by Dominic Behan on an LP called ''The Irish Rover'', in 1965. Origins The modern song is due to Dominic Behan, who published it in 1965. Behan relates that he learned the song from actor Peter O'Toole. In his book, "Ireland Sings" (London, 1965), Behan gives three verses, the first and third of which he says that he obtained from O'Toole and the middle one that he wrote himself. The 1964 album “The First Hurrah!” by The Clancy Brothers includes a song entitled “Carrickfergus (Do Bhí Bean Uasal)".
