Darby Mills
Darby Phyllis Mills is a Canadian rock vocalist, former figure skater, and the past lead singer of the Headpins. She has embarked on a solo career, having signed a worldwide record contract and released both a remastered solo album and a live CD. History Born on 1959 in Vernon, British Columbia, Mills began singing back-up vocals for Canadian bands in the late 1970s, most notably the British Columbia-based band Steelback. After signing on with the Headpins in 1981, the group began a three-album run at the top of the Canadian charts. Their debut album "Turn It Loud", quickly went platinum and topped the charts for six weeks. It spawned the hit single "Don't It Make Ya Feel". Their follow-up, "Line of Fire", produced the hits "Celebration" and "Just One More Time". The Headpins toured Europe and North America while opening for bands such as KISS, Whitesnake, ZZ Top and Aerosmith, among others. Brian MacLeod (Canadian Musician)
Brian Oliver MacLeod (June 25, 1952 – April 25, 1992), nicknamed "Too Loud" MacLeod, was a Canadian musician, songwriter and music producer, best known as a member of the bands Chilliwack and Headpins. History Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, MacLeod appeared as a guitarist in the Canadian band Pepper Tree and was a member of Huski and Garrison Hill with best friend Denny Driscoll in St. John's, Newfoundland. While in Garrison Hill, he met Pam Marsh, who was leaving the band Everyday People after a Newfoundland tour. Marsh & MacLeod recorded a demo in St. John's of some original tunes and went off to Toronto and formed the band "Surrender" with Paul "Boomer" Stamp on drums and Ken Morris on bass. Headpins
Headpins are a Canadian rock group, founded as a side project in the late 1970s by then Chilliwack members Ab Bryant and Brian MacLeod. Macleod was impressed by the vocal talents of Vancouver rock singer Denise McCann, and asked her to join his new venture. Originally, Matt Frenette played drums for the Headpins while Bernie Aubin played drums for a fellow Vancouver band, the soon to be renamed Loverboy. But within months, Aubin and Frenette swapped bands, where each continues to play to the present. The Headpins began gigging around the Vancouver area throughout 1981, quickly building a fan base. McCann left at the end of that first year, and MacLeod brought in Darby Mills to provide lead vocals.
