Sluseholmen
Sluseholmen (literally "The Sluice Isle") is an artificial peninsula in the South Harbour of Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes its name from Slusen, a lock immediately to the south, regulating water levels in the harbor. Previously the site of heavy industry and part of the Southern Docklands of Port of Copenhagen, Sluseholmen has, since the turn of the millennium, undergone massive redevelopment, transforming it into a mainly residential district known for its canals and maritime atmosphere. It is connected to Teglholmen by the Teglværk Bridge. History Sluseholmen used to be dominated by heavy industry, including a Ford car factory. As industry left the area, a plan was conceived to develop Sluseholmen into a canal district. Albertslund Municipality ( da, Albertslund Kommune) is a municipalities of Denmark, municipality in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand in eastern Denmark. Triangle Region Denmark ( da, Trekantområdet) is a cooperation consisting of seven Danish municipalities on the Danish peninsula of Jutland and the island of Funen: Billund, Fredericia, Haderslev, Kolding, Middelfart, Vejen and Vejle. The Triangle Region began as the general term for the industrial and communications hubs of Kolding, Vejle and Fredericia in the early 1960s. The three cities (thus ‘triangle’) originally worked together to coordinate and collaborate locally, but have since expanded into a cooperation between seven municipalities, which together have 421,480 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2018) and cover an area of 4,266.0 km2. Islands Brygge
Islands Brygge (English: Iceland's Quay) is a harbourfront area in central Copenhagen, Denmark, located on the north-western coast of Amager. The neighbourhood is noted for its waterfront park Havneparken, which is one of the most popular areas along the Copenhagen harbourfront and the location of one of the Copenhagen Harbour Baths. Established through a series of land reclamations from the 1880s, it served both military, residential, industrial and dockland purposes. Danish Town Planning Institute
The Danish Town Planning Institute (Danish language, Danish: Dansk Byplanlaboratorium) is an independent, self-owned institution based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It arranges the annual Danish Town Planning Conference and has instituted the Danish Urban Planning Award in collaboration with the Architects' Association of Denmark. The institute also arranges courses, conferences and study trips, consults Danish municipalities and publishes two magazines as well as books. Most of the operational costs are financed through income-generating activities. The rest is covered through grants from the authorities, institutions and private companies. History The Danish Town Planning Institute was founded in 1921 with inspiration from British town planning.
