Danish Critics Prize For Literature
The Danish Critics Prize for Literature (in Danish: ''Kritikerprisen'') is an annual Danish literature award. It was established in 1957 by the Danish Publishers Association. Since 1971 the award has been made by the Danish Literature Critics Association (''Litteraturkritikernes Lav'') after a vote by members. The award currently carries a prize of DKK 30,000. Anders Bodelsen
Anders Bodelsen (11 February 1937 – 17 October 2021) was a Danish writer primarily associated with the 1960 new-realism wave in Danish literature, along with Christian Kampmann and Henrik Stangerup. Bodelsen preferred the social-realistic style of writing, often thrillers about middle-class people who face the consequences of materialism, which often clashes with their human values. His thrillers also experiment with ordinary persons tempted by e.g. theft and border-morale issues. Most known is Bodelsen's novel ''Think of a Number'' (''Tænk på et tal'', 1968) filmed as ''The Silent Partner'' in 1978. Also widely known is his cooperation with Danish National Television (Danmarks Radio) on the filming of some of his children's thrillers, e.g. '' Guldregn'' ("Golden Rain", 1986). Furthermore, he also made some lesser known radio plays. He had a very brief cameo in the second of the ''Olsen-banden'' series of films, ''Olsen-banden på spanden''. William Heinesen
Andreas William Heinesen (15 January 1900 – 12 March 1991) was a poet, novel writer, short story writer, children's book writer, composer and painter from the Faroe Islands. His writing The Faroese capital Tórshavn is always the centre of Heinesen's writing and he is famous for having once called Tórshavn "The Navel of the World". His writing focuses on contrasts between darkness and light, between destruction and creativity. Then following is the existential struggle of man to take sides. This is not always easy, however, and the lines between good and bad are not always clearly defined. Heinesen was captivated by the mysterious part of life, calling himself religious in the broadest sense of the word. Tage Skou-Hansen
Tage Skou-Hansen (12 February 1925 – 11 November 2015) was a Danish writer, editor and scholar. Overview Born in the town of Fredericia, Tage Skou-Hansen graduated from Marselisborg Gymnasium in Aarhus and became a student of history of literature at Aarhus University. As a student, he worked as an editor of two literary magazines, one of which was '' Heretica'', before the publication of his first novel, ''De Nøgne Træer'' (The Bare Trees), in 1957. After receiving his degree, Tage taught literature at Askov Højskole for nine years, before concentrating on writing from 1967. Apart from his novels, Tage Skou-Hansen's works also includes two plays and a realized film manuscript. He has received many prizes and scholarships throughout his career. Thorkild Bjørnvig
Thorkild Strange Bjørnvig (; 2 February 1918, Aarhus, Denmark – 5 March 2004, Samsø) was a Danish author and poet. Overview Bjørnvig studied literature at the University of Aarhus and his prize winning MA thesis (1947) was about Rainer Maria Rilke, whose works he later translated into Danish. With Bjørn Poulsen he founded the literary journal ''Heretica'', as a reaction against the modernist and realist wave in Danish literature, that had prevailed in the years before the Second World War. Bjørnvig also edited the first two volumes of the magazine. ''Heretica'' was largely inspired by the British periodical ''The Criterion'' by T. S. Eliot and was published from 1948–1953, promoting writers such as Frank Jæger, Jørgen Gustava Brandt, Benny Andersen and Per Højholt. Aage Bergishagen Dons (19 August 1903 – 20 October 1993) was a Danish writer. He is best known for his novels, ''De uønskede, Frosten paa Ruderne'', and ''Den svundne tid er ej forbi''. Life Dons was born on 18 August 1903 in Svanholm, Frederikssund, Denmark to Hans Bergishagen Dons (1849–1930) and Frede Henriette Gottlieb (1869–1957). He had originally studied to be a musician. Dons made his writing debut in 1932 with ''Walpurgisnacht'', a radioplay which was later released as a book in 1935 along with his first novel ''Koncerten''. The majority of his published works were novels and collections of short stories. Christian Kampmann
Christian Peter Georg Kampmann (24 July 1939 in Hellerup – 13 September 1988 on Læsø) was a Danish writer and journalist. His novels are mainly about the middle and upper classes in the post war time and until the 1980s. The books are mainly about people who has some problems finding their place in the world and their feelings, e.g. homosexuality. Kampmann was bisexual himself, although he was married to piano player Therese Herman Koppel for many years and had two children. Kampmann was involved in the Danish Gay Liberation Front from 1975 and he was editor of the journal Sexual Policy from 1975 to 1978. In 1988, he was killed at his beach house on Læsø by his cohabitant and lover, Danish author Jens Michael Schau.
