Danilo Lerio
Danilo Lerio Jr. (born 15 November 1980) is a retired Filipino professional boxer. He competed in the men's light flyweight event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He had a southpaw stance. Leading to the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Lerio was mentored by Cuban coach Raul Liranza. Lerio lost his first and only bout in the Olympics against Rafael Lozano of Spain. His coach was dismissed from his position due to ordering Lerio to mix it up with his opponent despite leading four points with 17 seconds left in the bout. He later turned pro and was the last Filipino who competed in the Olympics to do until Mark Anthony Barriga in the mid-2010s. As a professional boxer, he and his younger brother Roberto were handled by Todd Makelim. Mark Anthony Barriga
Mark Anthony Barriga (born 11 June 1993) is a Filipino professional boxer who challenged for the IBF mini-flyweight title in 2018. As an amateur, Barriaga represented Philippines at the 2012 Olympics, reaching the round of 16 of the light-flyweight bracket. Personal life Barriga was born in Danao, Cebu but grew up in Panabo, Davao del Norte. Mark Anthony was born to Edgar and Melita Barriga, the former a printing machine operator for a Korean company in their hometown. Barriga took up boxing at the age of 10, encouraged by his father. He studied business at the UM Panabo College and plays guitar as a hobby. Amateur career Barriga's participation at the 2012 London Olympics ended after he lost to Kazakh boxer Birzhan Zhakypov, 16–17, in their August 4 round-of-16 match. Arlan Lerio
Arlan Lerio (born 22 November 1976) is a Filipino boxing, boxer. He competed in the Boxing at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Flyweight, men's flyweight event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He was part of the national training pool of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines as early as 1997 and won gold medals in international tournaments in England, Estonia, and Finland. Following his achievement of winning a gold medal in the Liverpool International Festival of Amateur Boxing in 1991, he was taken in as part of a boxing team by then-North Cotabato Governor Manny Piñol where his father Danilo Lerio Sr. served as coach of the team. In 2001, he reportedly had plans on turning pro with then North Cotabato Governor Piñol as his manager.
