Danijel Popović (footballer)
Danijel Popović (6 March 1982 – 23 October 2002) was a Croatian professional footballer who played as a forward. Playing for Vukovar '91, Popović established himself as one of the most talented Croatian footballers of his generation. After impressing in the first two seasons, he was loaned to Bastia. After the transfer to Bastia fell through, Popović then joined Osijek where he played in only eleven matches before his death in a road accident in the evening of 23 October 2002. Club career Popović began his football career in the youth squad of the local club Dunav. As a 15-year-old boy he played for the club's first team in the regional league, scoring eight goals in 30 appearances. In 1998, Vukovar '91 youth coach Ivica Radoš recognized his talent and brought him to the club's youth team. Vukovar () ( sr-Cyrl, Вуковар, hu, Vukovár, german: Wukowar) is a city in Croatia, in the eastern region of Slavonia. It contains Croatia's largest river port, located at the confluence of the Vuka and the Danube. Vukovar is the seat of Vukovar-Syrmia County and the second largest city in the county after Vinkovci. The city's registered population was 22,616 in the 2021 census, with a total of 23,536 in the municipality. Name The name ''Vukovar'' means 'town on the Vuka River' (''Vuko'' from the Vuka River, and ''vár'' from the Hungarian word for 'fortress'). Hungary National Under-21 Football Team
The Hungary national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team for Hungary and is controlled by the Hungarian Football Federation. Following the realignment of UEFA's youth competitions in 1976, the Hungarian Under-21 team was formed. The team has a modest record, reaching the last eight of three tournaments, and the semi-finals of one, but failing to qualify for eleven, including the forthcoming 2006 tournament. Since the under-21 competition rules insist that players must be 21 or under at the start of a two-year competition, technically it is an U-23 competition. Dalj
Dalj ( sr-Cyrl, Даљ, hu, Dálya, german: Dallia, la, Teutoburgium) is a village on the Danube in eastern Croatia, near the confluence of the Drava and Danube, on the border with Serbia. It is located on the D519 road, south of its intersection with the D213 road and the Vukovar–Erdut railway. Administratively it is a part of the municipality of Erdut, Osijek-Baranja County.
