Danielle Wotherspoon-Gregg
Danielle Wotherspoon-Gregg (born April 13, 1980) is a Canadian speedskater from Red Deer, Alberta. She competes primarily in the short distances of 500m and 1000 m. Wotherspoon-Gregg qualified to compete at the 2014 Olympic Games as part of the Canadian team where she skated in the 500m event. She is the sister to Canadian speedskater Jeremy Wotherspoon and is married to teammate and 500 m speedskater Jamie Gregg Jamie Gregg (born March 18, 1985, in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian long track speed skater. Gregg was ranked 10th in overall World Cup standings for the 2009–10 season. Red Deer is a city in Alberta, Canada, located midway on the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. Jeremy Wotherspoon
Jeremy Lee Wotherspoon (born October 26, 1976) is a Canadian speed skater, widely recognized as one of the greatest speedskating sprinters of all time. In December 2003, Wotherspoon became the most successful male skater in World Cup history when he claimed the 49th victory of his career. He finished his career with a record 67 World Cup wins at 500 and 1,000 metres. Wotherspoon broke the 500 m world record on three occasions. He broke the 1000 m world record seven times. Career Early career Wotherspoon was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, but grew up in Red Deer, Alberta. There he first became involved in speedskating after signing up for a power skating class in an effort to improve his ice hockey abilities. Jamie Gregg (born March 18, 1985, in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian long track speed skater. Gregg was ranked 10th in overall World Cup standings for the 2009–10 season. He is set to compete for Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the 500 m. At the Olympics, Gregg competed in the Richmond Olympic Oval where he finished 8th in the 500 m as the top North American skater, one spot ahead of Jeremy Wotherspoon.
