Daniel Young (politician)
Daniel James Young (born 4 October 1988) is an Australian politician. He was a Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council, representing the Northern Victoria Region from 2014 to 2018. Following his parliamentary defeat, Young was expelled from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party in February 2019. He was reported to have had a falling out with the state committee over several issues, including his willingness to release confidential party business to the media, and an electoral funding bill Young had personally opposed but voted for due to party solidarity. In addition, Young had disagreed with his party's preference deals for the 2018 election, which he believed undermining his re-election chances in favour of successful Liberal Democrat candidate Tim Quilty. Daniel Robert Young (born 3 October 1990) is an English former first-class cricketer. Young was born at Newcastle upon Tyne in October 1990. He was educated in the city at the Royal Grammar School, before going up to Leeds Metropolitan University. While studying at Leeds, Young played first-class cricket for Leeds/Bradford MCCU, making his debut against Yorkshire in 2013. He made two further first-class appearances for Leeds/Bradford, with a further match in 2013 against Leicestershire, before playing against Yorkshire in 2014. He scored 31 runs in his three matches, with a high score of 14. Danny Richardson Young (born July 26, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6' 3" guard who attended Wake Forest University, he played ten seasons (1984–1993; 1994–1995) in the NBA, spending time with the Seattle SuperSonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, and Milwaukee Bucks. Young was a key reserve on the 1990 Blazers team that reached the NBA Finals, and he retired with 2,622 NBA career points and 1,674 assists. He is best known for his portrayal of Warren Baldwin on the popular long-running soap ''Coronation Street'', and for his participation in the celebrity ice skating show ''Dancing on Ice''. Daniel Bracy Young (born November 3, 1971) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He appeared in four games in Major League Baseball for the Chicago Cubs in 2000. Young was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 83rd round of the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft. Young had a very brief career in the major leagues, pitching in only four games for the Chicago Cubs during the 2000 season. Young & Giroux is a collaboration between the Canadian artists Daniel Young (Toronto, Ontario, 1981) and Christian Giroux (Kingston, Ontario, 1971). Young is based between Toronto, Ontario and Berlin, Germany and Giroux lives in Guelph, Ontario, where he teaches in the School of Fine Art and Music of Guelph University. Daniel Young has a degree in Interdisciplinary Geography from the University of Toronto; Christian Giroux is a graduate of the University of Victoria and the Nova Scotia School of Art and Design. The Daniel Young House is a historic house at 34 Main Street in Lubec, Maine. Built in 1822 for a local businessman, it is a regionally rare example of Federal period double house, and one of the only ones known in the state that is built of wood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Description and history The Daniel Young House is located in Lubec's main village, on the south side of Main Street just east of the Congregational Church. It is a two-story wood-frame structure, with a hip roof and clapboard siding. Its street-facing front facade is six bays wide, arranged symmetrically with a pair of doorways flanked by sash windows. The doorways are set under a shared cornice, with pilasters at the outside and between them, and each topped by a half-round transom.
