Daniel Schueftan
Dan Schueftan ( he, דן שיפטן) (also Dan Shiftan) ) is an Israeli academic and chairman of the National Security Studies Center at the University of Haifa. He also serves as a senior lecturer at Haifa University's School of Political Sciences. He has taught at the Israel Defense Forces National Security College and the IDF's Command and Staff College. Biography Dan Schueftan was an advisor to Israel's National Security Council, and to former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Ariel Sharon. Schueftan served as a consultant to Israeli decision-makers and the top echelon of Israel's foreign policy and defense establishments, also briefing European and American political leaders and senior officers. He is the author of several books on contemporary Middle Eastern history. The University of Haifa ( he, אוניברסיטת חיפה Arabic: جامعة حيفا) is a university located on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. Israeli Disengagement From Gaza
The Israeli disengagement from Gaza ( he, תוכנית ההתנתקות, ') was the unilateral dismantling in 2005 of the 21 Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip and the evacuation of Israeli settlers and army from inside the Gaza Strip. The disengagement was proposed in 2003 by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, adopted by the government in June 2004, and approved by the Knesset in February 2005 as the ''Disengagement Plan Implementation Law''. It was implemented in August 2005 and completed in September 2005. The settlers who refused to accept government compensation packages and voluntarily vacate their homes prior to the 15 August 2005 deadline were evicted by Israeli security forces over a period of several days. Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov (1946–2013) was an Israeli international relations and conflict resolution scholar. Biography Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov received a bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern studies and Political Science, as well as a master's degree and a Doctorate in International Relations, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
