Daniel Madwed
Daniel Lawrence Madwed (born March 15, 1989) is an American swimmer. Career Madwed was born in Stamford, Connecticut. He swam in the 2005 Maccabiah Games in Jerusalem, Israel. He won a gold medal and set a new Maccabiah Games record in the men's 200-meter butterfly. He competed at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships in Victoria, British Columbia, and was the youngest American male swimmer at the event. He placed 10th in the 200 m butterfly, 15th in the 100 m butterfly, and 15th in the 200 m individual medley. In 2007, Madwed competed at the World University Games in Bangkok, where he won a gold medal as a part of the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay, a silver as a part of the 4 × 100 m medley relay, and a bronze in the 200 m butterfly. At the 2008 US Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, Madwed placed 5th in the 200 m butterfly and 6th in the 200 m individual medley. The 17th Maccabiah Games ( he, המכביה ה-17 ישראל תשס"ה), held in Israel, were an incarnation of the 'Jewish Olympics.' 2009 World Aquatics Championships
The 2009 World Aquatics Championships ( it, Campionati mondiali di nuoto 2009) or the XIII FINA World Championships were held in Rome, Italy from 18 July to 2 August 2009. The 2009 Championships featured competition in all 5 aquatics disciplines: diving, swimming, open water swimming, synchronised swimming and water polo. Peter Vanderkaay
Peter William Vanderkaay (born February 12, 1984) is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in middle-distance freestyle events and is a four-time Olympic medalist. He was a member of the United States Olympic team in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and won bronze medals in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 400-meter freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Personal life Vanderkaay was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. He grew up in Oakland Township, and attended Rochester Adams High School in Rochester Hills. He has three brothers, all of whom are competitive swimmers. His older brother Christian swam for the University of Michigan and qualified for the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2008 Olympic trials.
