Daniel J. Reynolds
Daniel J. Reynolds, Jr. (1944 – December 26, 2019), was a Circuit Judge of the 10th Judicial Circuit (Bessemer Division) in Jefferson County, Alabama. Born in 1944, he died on December 26, 2019. He was a member of the Alabama Democratic Party. He served as District Attorney of the Bessemer Division from 1973-1979. He then became a Circuit Judge serving from (1979-1997) when he retired from elective office. He then served in the private practice of law until his retirement in 2011. Education Reynolds was a graduate of Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Alabama. He received both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Alabama Personal life He was married to Katha (Holston) Reynolds with whom he had three children. Alabama Circuit Courts
The Alabama Circuit Courts are the state trial courts of general jurisdiction in the State of Alabama. The Circuit Courts have jurisdiction to hear civil and criminal cases. For civil cases, the courts has authority to try cases with an amount in controversy of more than $3,000 and has exclusive original jurisdiction over claims for more than $10,000. The Circuit Courts are the criminal trial courts for most felony charges, and for some misdemeanors and lesser included offenses. The Circuit Courts also have appellate jurisdiction over certain cases arising from the Alabama District Courts (the trial courts of limited jurisdiction in Alabama). The Alabama Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the state of Alabama. It is chaired by Randy Kelley. Fairfield is a city in western Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area and is located southeast of Pleasant Grove. The population was 11,117 at the 2010 census. History This city was founded in 1910 in which the featured speaker at the dedication ceremony was former President Theodore Roosevelt. McCalla, Alabama
McCalla (sometimes misspelled Mc Calla) is a census-designated place in Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties, Alabama, United States, southwest of Bessemer and the geographic terminus of the Appalachian Mountains. The community is named for Richard Calvin McCalla, a well known civil engineer, who served as chief engineer of several railroads throughout the South, including the Alabama and Chattanooga, the Tuscaloosa and Northern and the Knoxville and Ohio.
