Daniel Grassl
Daniel Grassl (born 4 April 2002) is an Italian figure skater. He is the 2022 European silver medalist, the 2022 MK John Wilson Trophy champion, the 2019 World Junior bronze medalist, and a four-time Italian national champion (2019–2022). He has won ten senior international medals, including gold at four ISU Challenger Series events ( 2018 CS Inge Solar Memorial – Alpen Trophy, 2019 CS Asian Open Trophy, 2019 CS Ice Star, 2021 CS Lombardia Trophy). Career Early years Grassl began learning to skate in 2009. His first coach was Ludmila Mladenova in Merano. He competed internationally in the advanced novice ranks from the 2012–2013 season through 2014–2015. Making his junior international debut, Grassl won the bronze medal at the Lombardia Trophy in September 2015. Figure Skating At The 2022 Winter Olympics – Men's Singles
The men's singles competition in figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 8 February ( short program) and 10 February (free skating), at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Haidian District of Beijing. Nathan Chen of the United States won the event, with Yuma Kagiyama of Japan taking the silver medal, and Shoma Uno, also of Japan, winning the bronze. For Chen and Kagiyama, these were their first individual Olympic medals; it was Uno's second following his silver in 2018. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. 2022 MK John Wilson Trophy
The 2022 MK John Wilson Trophy was the fourth event in the 2022–23 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the IceSheffield in Sheffield on November 11–13. It was the replacement event for Cup of China. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. Skaters also earned points toward qualifying for the 2022–23 Grand Prix Final. On July 21, 2022, the International Skating Union announced that the MK John Wilson Trophy would replace Cup of China, which was cancelled on May 10 due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Figure Skater
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The World Junior Figure Skating Championships (''"World Juniors"'' or ''"Junior Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters within a designated age range compete for the title of World Junior champion. 2022 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 European Figure Skating Championships were held from 10 to 16 January 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2023 European Championships. Russia swept the titles for a second consecutive European Championships and for the eighth time in history (after 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2020). The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU).
