Daniel Davies (January 18, 1825 – May 11, 1911) was a Canadian merchant and political figure. He represented King's County in the House of Commons of Canada from 1873 to 1887 as a Conservative. King's County (electoral District)
King's County was a federal electoral district in Prince Edward Island, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1873 to 1896. This riding was created in 1873 when Prince Edward Island joined the Canadian Confederation. It was abolished in 1892 when it was redistributed into East Queen's and King's ridings. It consisted of King's County, and elected two members. The House of Commons of Canada (french: Chambre des communes du Canada) is the lower house of the Parliament of Canada. Together with the Crown and the Senate of Canada, they comprise the bicameral legislature of Canada. The Conservative Party of Canada has gone by a variety of names over the years since Canadian Confederation. Initially known as the "Liberal-Conservative Party", it dropped "Liberal" from its name in 1873, although many of its candidates continued to use this name. As a result of World War I and the Conscription Crisis of 1917, the party joined with pro-Conscription Crisis of 1917, conscription Liberal Party of Canada, Liberals to become the "Unionist Party (Canada), Unionist Party", led by Robert Borden from 1917 to 1920, and then the "National Liberal and Conservative Party" until 1922. Charlottetown is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, and the county seat of Queens County. Named after Queen Charlotte, Charlottetown was an unincorporated town until it was incorporated as a city in 1855.
