Daniel Bălan
Daniel Bălan (born 18 September 1979) is a Romanian former football defender and is currently the manager of Bucovina Rădăuți. In 2002, he suffered a severe injury, something similar with the one Dutch player Marco van Basten had. After 18 months and multiple surgeries, he returned to the football pitch once more. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. The 2006 Supercupa României was the 9th edition of Romania's season opener cup competition. 2001 Supercupa României was the 5th edition of Romania's season opener cup competition, Supercupa României. The match was played in Bucharest at Stadionul Naţional (1953), Stadionul Naţional on 2 March 2002, and was contested between 2000–01 Divizia A, Divizia A title holders, FCSB, Steaua and 2001 Cupa României Final, Cupa României champions, FC Dinamo București, Dinamo. The super cup final was held in mid season just before the start of its second half. This final was the most attended Supercup final in Romania with over 50,000 spectators. Steaua won the trophy for the 4th time after a double from Trică, Niculescu's goal for Dinamo being insufficient to change the outcome of the game. Supercupa României
The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The most successful performer so far has been FCSB with 6 wins, followed by Rapid București and CFR Cluj with 4 wins each up until 2021.
