Daniel Bowles
Daniel Bowles (born 19 October 1991) is a retired A-League Australian professional football (soccer) player. Club career Early career Bowles played all of his junior football in Toowoomba, initially with St Albans Football Club followed by the South Toowoomba Hawks and made his senior debut at 15 with the Toowoomba Raiders who play in the Brisbane Premier League (BPL). Brisbane Roar In 2008, Daniel Bowles signed with Brisbane Roar, participating in the club's inaugural National Youth League season, where the Roar would finish third, just missing out on a spot in the final. The following season, Bowles would feature heavily, being a sturdy defender in what was a dismal season for the team. On 7 February 2011, Bowles was called up to the senior team following the departure of former player of the season, Luke DeVere. Matt McKay
Matthew Graham McKay (born 11 January 1983) is a retired Australian professional footballer who last played for Australian A-League club Brisbane Roar, and previously with the Australian national team. McKay currently holds the club's record for league appearances, 272. McKay played for Brisbane Roar since their first season in the A-League, and was their club captain up until the 2010–11 season, in which he led Brisbane to their first ever A-League championship and premiership. Following this triumphant victory McKay sought a new challenge in the first division of the Scottish Premiership with Rangers. McKay played an integral role in Australia's second placing in the 2011 AFC Asian Cup notably with 30m cross to centre forward Harry Kewell. A-League National Youth League
A-League Youth, formerly known as the National Youth League and Y-League, is an Australian national soccer youth developmental and under-21s league, founded by Football Federation Australia and now run by the Australian Professional Leagues. The current league was established as a successor to the previous competition of the National Youth League (1984–2004) and commenced in August 2008. The league runs in conjunction with the A-League Men as a developmental or reserve league. The league, as well as the A-League Men and A-League Women are administered by the Australian Professional Leagues. In 2020 it was contested by ten teams, all of which competed in the A-League. From the 2020–21 season, the league was to expand to eleven teams with the introduction of Western United, however the season was cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. Gold Coast United Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in Gold Coast, Queensland. The earliest incarnation of the club formed in 1966 and its home ground was at Nikiforides Family Park in Broadbeach. The first era of Gold Coast United senior teams competed in the Brisbane leagues until the club disbanded after the 1979 season, allowing Broadbeach United Soccer Club to form its first senior team in 1980 at the same grounds.
