Dang Wangi
Dang Wangi is an area in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, situated north of Dataran Merdeka, bordering Bukit Nanas and Medan Tuanku and located between the Gombak and Klang Rivers. The name is derived from Hang Jebat's wife. A road that cuts across the ward, Dang Wangi Road (), formerly known as Campbell Road, is named after the ward. Running in an east–west orientation, it interchanges into Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman on its western end and Jalan Ampang on its eastern end. Dang Wangi LRT station is an underground metro station, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, part of the Kelana Jaya Line (formerly known as PUTRA). The station was opened on June 1, 1999, as part of the line's second and latest extension, which includes the addition of 12 stations (not including Sri Rampai station), and an underground line that the Dang Wangi station is connected to. The Dang Wangi station is one of only five underground stations in the Kelana Jaya Line. Dataran Merdeka
Independence Square ( ms, Dataran Merdeka) is a square located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It was formerly known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the ''Padang'' (meaning "field" in Malay) and was used as the cricket green of the Selangor Club (now the Royal Selangor Club). Bukit Nanas
Bukit Nanas, meaning "Pineapple Hill" (Weld Hill during colonial rule), is a small hill in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With a height of 94 meter (308 ft) above sea level, it contains the only virgin tropical rain forest left in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is located here, and is open to the public. There are jungle trails, a visitors centre, and a forestry museum. Medan Tuanku is a major area in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Medan Tuanku and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman are the primary roads in this area. The Klang River ( ms, Sungai Klang) is a river which flows through Kuala Lumpur and Selangor in Malaysia and eventually flows into the Straits of Malacca. It is approximately in length and drains a basin of about . The Klang River has 11 major tributaries. Because the river flows through Klang Valley, which is a heavily populated area of more than four million people, it is considerably polluted, because of deep siltation caused by human waste from informal settlers of the riverbank and even from some business establishments without septic tanks or sewage treatment plants and by soil carried by mudflows from mountains. Hang Jebat
Hang Jebat ( Jawi: هڠ جيبت) was the closest companion of the legendary Malaccan hero Hang Tuah. Regarded in Malaysia as one of the greatest silat exponents in history, he is well known for his vengeful rebellion against the Malacca Sultan whom he served. He can also be regarded as an early Malay anarchist following his rebellion against the ruler. Story After Hang Tuah was sentenced to death, Hang Jebat was conferred the coveted Taming Sari kris, a weapon formerly used by Hang Tuah. Believing that Hang Tuah was unjustly murdered by the sultan he served, Hang Jebat turned against the ruler to avenge his friend's death. No one knew that the ''bendahara'' (chief minister) went against the royal decree and hid Hang Tuah in a remote area. Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (formerly Batu Road) is a major one-way road in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jalan Ampang or Ampang Road (Selangor state route B31) is a major road in Klang Valley region, Selangor and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
