"Dance (Our Own Party)" is a song by Maltese indie pop band the Busker. The song represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after winning ''Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2023'', the Maltese national selection for that year's Eurovision Song Contest. The song peaked at number one in Malta. Background and release The song is described as a storyline of someone who is triggered by social anxiety at a party and finding comfort in leaving with a couple of friends to go to a familiar and more comforting setting. In an interview with ''ESC Bubble'', the band further described the song in general as "a journey of how one gets out of such a party, and heads back to their home with their friends to throw their own intimate party." The Busker
The Busker is a Maltese indie pop band founded in 2012, consisting of three members, namely David "Dav.Jr" Meilak (born 11 October 1994), Jean Paul Borg (born 27 August 1993), and Sean Meachen (born 19 November 1993). The band represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song " Dance (Our Own Party)", which peaked at number one in their home country of Malta for 13 consecutive weeks and was the country's most played song of 2023. Career The Busker was formed in October 2012 by singer and guitarist Dario Genovese and percussionist Jean Paul Borg. The band began by busking on the streets of Malta, hence the band's name. Ta' Qali
Ta' Qali is a wide open space in the limits of Attard and Mosta in central and northern Malta respectively, which contains the national football stadium, the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, Ta' Qali National Park, a crafts village, and a national vegetable market which is locally known as the ''Pitkalija''. Shortly before World War II, the area was used to build a military aerodrome and a station for the Royal Air Force (RAF), which the British called RAF Ta Kali; Maltese place names were often corrupted in this fashion. RAF Ta Kali was operational throughout the war and continued to be used as an RAF airfield until the mid-1950s. Malta Fairs And Conventions Centre
The Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (also known as MFCC) is a multi-purpose venue located in Ta' Qali, Attard, Malta. The centre can be used for concerts, exhibitions, trade fairs, examinations, conferences, galas and weddings. After its expansion in 2018, the venue measures 170m x 50m, totalling 8,500m². The venue can hold up to 14,000 people standing and 10,268 people seated, making it Malta's largest indoor venue.
