Danair A/S was an airline in Denmark, headquartered in Kastrup, Tårnby Municipality. History It was a joint venture between Scandinavian Airlines System (51% ownership), Maersk Air (34%) and Cimber Air. The three companies marketed all domestic flights from the cooperation started in 1971 until the liberalization of the airline market in the European Union in 1995. SAS flew the routes from Copenhagen Airport to Aalborg, Aarhus and Karup, as well as the Greenland airports of Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq. Maersk Air flew the routes to Billund, Rønne, Esbjerg, Vojens and Odense. Cimber Air flew the routes to Sønderborg. Kastrup
Kastrup () is a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark, on the east coast of Amager in Tårnby Municipality. It is the site of Copenhagen Airport. In Danish, the airport is often called ''Kastrup Lufthavn'' (Kastrup Airport) or ''Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup'' (Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup). History In 1749 Jacob Fortling obtained a royal license to establish a lime plant in Kastrup. It harbor in Kastrup for the landing of chalk from Saltholm. He soon diversified with a brickyard (1752) and a pottery specializing in faience (1755) at the same site. This marked the beginning of an industrial development that accelerated after the opening of Kastrup Glassworks in 1847. Copenhagen Airport opened in 1925. Tårnby Municipality
Tårnby Kommune () is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') bordering Copenhagen Municipality on the island of Amager just east of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality includes the islands of Saltholm (16 km2;2 inhabitants 1 January 2020) and Peberholm (1.3 km2), and covers an area of 66 km2 of which 48.9 on Amager. Bornholm Airport ( da, Bornholms Lufthavn) is a Danish airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5 km) southeast of Rønne, on the island of Bornholm. Sønderborg Airport ( da, Sønderborg Lufthavn) is an airport located in Sønderborg, Denmark. The airport officially opened in 1968; however, the first flights took place in 1950, and were flown by Sønderjyllands Flyveselskab. Airlines and destinations The following airlines operate regular scheduled and charter flights at the airport: Cimber Sterling operated the connection to Copenhagen until 3 May 2012, when the airline filed for bankruptcy. Hans Christian Andersen Airport ( da, Odense Lufthavn, also often referred to as ) is a small airport serving the Danish city of Odense. It is located in the village of Beldringe, some 9 km north-northwest of the city. The airport is named after Hans Christian Andersen, a renowned Danish author who was born in Odense. History The airstrip was constructed for military purposes in the early 1940s during the German occupation of Denmark.
