Dan Murray (Gaelic Footballer)
Dan Murray (born 1934) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. Murray joined the team during the 1954 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1959 championship. During that time he won one National League medal and two Munster medals, however, he failed to capture an All-Ireland medal. Murray began his club career with Canovee and UCC before later winning two county championship medals with Macroom. Dan Murray (born 16 May 1982) is an English retired footballer who is most known for his time at Cork City. Career Cork City Born in Cambridge, Murray initially signed for Cork City on loan in 2002, under former manager Liam Murphy, from Peterborough United. One year later, he signed permanently for Cork. During his time on Leeside, he scored vital goals in European competition against Malmö FF in the UEFA Intertoto Cup (2004), Apollon Limassol in the UEFA Champions League qualifier in 2006 and FC Haka in the UEFA Cup in 2008. He is Cork's highest scorer in European competition. He was booked twice in their run during the 2006 UEFA Champions League qualifiers, once for an imitation of an Apollon Limassol player diving, and secondly during Cork's home game against Crvena Zvezda, when over-eagerly recovering a ball from an opposition player for a throw-in. Daniel Thomas Murray (19 December 1912 – 10 November 1992) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Thomas Joseph Murray (1875-1947), and Ellen Murray, née Cameron, née Grist (1874-1961), Daniel Thomas Murray was born at Colac, Victoria on 19 December 1912. He married Eileen May Dowdle (1913-1998) in 1933. Their son, Kevin later played 300 games for Fitzroy (its only 300 game player) and was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame as a legend. Football Murray was a halfback and first appeared for Fitzroy in 1933. He left to play with Prahan from 1934 to 1938, then returned to Fitzroy in 1938. Murray was suspended for 10 weeks by the VFA Tribunal in June 1937 on a kicking charge, which resulted in him missing out on playing in Prahran's 1937 VFA premiership. Daniel Murray (1768, at Sheepwalk, near Arklow, Ireland – Dublin, 1852) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin. Life He was born on 18 April 1768 at Sheepwalk, near Arklow, County Wicklow, the son of Thomas and Judith Murray. His parents were farmers. At the age of eight he went to Thomas Betagh's school at Saul's Court, near Christchurch Cathedral. At sixteen, Archbishop John Carpenter sent him to the Irish College at Salamanca, completing his studies at the University of Salamanca. He was ordained priest in 1792 at the age of twenty-four. After some years as curate at St. Paul's Church in Dublin he was transferred to Arklow, and was there in 1798 when the rebellion broke out. The yeomanry shot the parish priest in bed and Murray, to escape a similar fate, fled to the city where for two years he served as curate at St. Andrew's Chapel on Hawkins Street.

Daniel Murray (October 19, 1751 – February 24, 1832) was a judge and political figure in New Brunswick. He represented York in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1785 to 1802. Born in Rutland, Vermont, he was the son of Colonel John Murray, of Scottish descent, and his second wife Elizabeth McClanathan. He was educated at Harvard University, graduating in 1771. Daniel Alexander Payne Murray (1852–1925) was an American bibliographer, author, politician, and historian. He also worked as an assistant librarian at the Library of Congress. Biography Murray was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 3, 1852. In 1861, he went to work at the United States Senate Restaurant managed by his brother who was also a caterer. He joined the professional staff of the Library of Congress in 1871. He was eighteen years old, and only the second Black American to work for the Library at a time when the Library of Congress. Murray became the full-time personal assistant to the Librarian of Congress, Ainsworth Rand Spofford in 1874. By 1881, he had risen to become assistant librarian, a position he held for forty-one years. For a brief period in 1897, he was the chief of the periodical division.
