Daniel James Harmon (born January 3, 1973) is an American writer, producer, and actor. He is best known as the creator and producer of the NBC/ Yahoo! Screen sitcom '' Community'' (2009–2015), creator and host of the comedy podcast '' Harmontown'' (2012–2019), co-creator of the Adult Swim animated sitcom '' Rick and Morty'' (2013–present) and its subsequent franchise along with Justin Roiland, and co-founder of the alternative television network and website Channel 101 along with Rob Schrab. ''Yacht Rock'' is an online video series following the fictionalized lives and careers of American soft rock stars of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The series debuted on Channel 101 at the June 26, 2005 screening. It placed in the top five at subsequent screenings until the June 25, 2006 screening, where it placed seventh and was canceled. The show remained a popular download on Channel 101, convincing the creators to make two additional episodes independently. Edward John "Ted" Templeman (born October 24, 1942) is an American record producer. Among the acts he has a long relationship with are the rock bands Van Halen and the Doobie Brothers and the singer Van Morrison; he produced multiple critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums by each of them. Career Templeman was born in Santa Cruz, California, where he began his career in the mid 1960s as a drummer in a band called The Tikis. At the suggestion of Warner Brothers staff producer Lenny Waronker, the group decided to change their name to Harpers Bizarre in 1966 with Templeman switching to guitar and vocals.
