Dan H. Cole
Dan Hyde Cole (June 16, 1811 Auburn, New York, Auburn, Cayuga County, New York – November 8, 1881) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He was the son of Dr. Joseph Cole and Sarah (Hyde) Cole. In 1830, he removed to Albion (village), New York, Albion. There he studied law with his brother A. Hyde Cole (1798–1859), was admitted to the bar in 1832, and practiced in partnership with his brother. On May 4, 1836, he married Frances M. Elliott (1817–1893), and they had three children. He was Surrogate of Orleans County from 1840 to 1844; Clerk of Orleans County from 1849 to 1854; and Judge and Surrogate of the Orleans County Court in 1855. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Orleans Co.) in 79th New York State Legislature, 1856. Auburn is a city in Cayuga County, New York, United States. Located at the north end of Owasco Lake, one of the Finger Lakes in Central New York, the city had a population of 26,866 at the 2020 census. Almanzor Hutchinson
Almanzor Hutchinson (January 17, 1811 – June 12, 1893) was an American farmer and politician from New York. Life Hutchinson was born in Remsen, Oneida County, New York, in 1811. In 1816, the family removed to a farm in Gaines, then in Genesee County, since 1824 in Orleans County, New York. In 1845, he married Mary G. Short (1821–1903), and they had several children. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Orleans Co.) in 1857, 1858 and 1859; and of the New York State Senate (29th D.) in 1862 and 1863. George Bowen (September 28, 1831 – January 22, 1921) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Early life and education Bowen was born in Shelby, Orleans County, New York, the son of Abiel Bowen MD and Anna (Cone) Bowen. He attended the common schools, Millville Academy. He graduated from the Cary Collegiate Institute in 1848. He studied law in Batavia Town with John H. Martindale and Seth Wakeman and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1852. He practiced law in Batavia. Career Early in his political career, Bowen was elected both village and town clerk of Batavia. Richard Crowley
Richard Crowley (December 14, 1836 – July 22, 1908) was a United States representative from New York. He was born in Pendleton, New York. He attended the public schools and Lockport Union School. Later, he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1860, and commenced practice in Lockport. Crowley was City Attorney of Lockport from 1865 to 1866. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1865, and was a member of the New York State Senate (29th D.) in 1866, 1867, 1868 and 1869. He was appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant as United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York on March 23, 1871 and was reappointed March 3, 1875, and served in that capacity until March 3, 1879. Crowley was elected as a Republican to the 46th and 47th United States Congresses, holding office from March 4, 1879, to March 3, 1883.
