Richard Crowley
Richard Crowley (December 14, 1836 – July 22, 1908) was a United States representative from New York. He was born in Pendleton, New York. He attended the public schools and Lockport Union School. Later, he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1860, and commenced practice in Lockport. Crowley was City Attorney of Lockport from 1865 to 1866. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1865, and was a member of the New York State Senate (29th D.) in 1866, 1867, 1868 and 1869. He was appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant as United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York on March 23, 1871 and was reappointed March 3, 1875, and served in that capacity until March 3, 1879. Crowley was elected as a Republican to the 46th and 47th United States Congresses, holding office from March 4, 1879, to March 3, 1883. The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, also called the House Judiciary Committee, is a standing committee of the United States House of Representatives. George Bowen (New York Politician)
George Bowen (September 28, 1831 – January 22, 1921) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Early life and education Bowen was born in Shelby, Orleans County, New York, the son of Abiel Bowen MD and Anna (Cone) Bowen. He attended the common schools, Millville Academy. He graduated from the Cary Collegiate Institute in 1848. He studied law in Batavia Town with John H. Martindale and Seth Wakeman and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1852. He practiced law in Batavia. Career Early in his political career, Bowen was elected both village and town clerk of Batavia. Olcott Beach, New York
Olcott is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in the Town of Newfane in Niagara County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, this community population was 1,241. Most locals refer to it as Olcott Beach. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. Olcott is a lakeside community which is home to the deepest harbor on Lake Ontario west of Rochester. The community is at the junction of East/West Lake Road ( NYS Route 18) and Lockport-Olcott Road ( NYS Route 78). Krull Park in the northeast part of the village, is the largest county-operated park in Niagara County. American Civil War
The American Civil War (April 12, 1861 – May 26, 1865; also known by other names) was a civil war in the United States.
