Damují River
The Damují River is a Cuban river situated south of Los Toros, close to Punta Bélico. It is born in the Cienfuegos municipality of Lajas and flows west, ending in the bay of Cienfuegos. Cienfuegos
Cienfuegos (), capital of Cienfuegos Province, is a city on the southern coast of Cuba. It is located about from Havana and has a population of 150,000. Since the late 1960s, Cienfuegos has become one of Cuba's main industrial centers, especially in the energy and sugar sectors. The city is dubbed ''La Perla del Sur'' (Pearl of the South). Although ''Cienfuegos'' literally translates to "one hundred fires" (''cien'', "one hundred"; ''fuegos'', "fires"), the city takes its name from the surname of José Cienfuegos, Captain General of Cuba (1816–19). In 2005, UNESCO inscribed the '' Urban Historic Centre of Cienfuegos'' on the World Heritage List, citing Cienfuegos as the best extant example of early 19th century Spanish Enlightenment implementation in urban planning. Rodas
Rodas () is a municipality and town in the Cienfuegos Province of Cuba. It was founded in 1859 under the name of ''Lechuzo''. In 1879 it was renamed Rodas in honour of capitán general ''Caballero de Rodas''. Geography The municipality is divided into the barrios and villages of Cabecera (the town proper), Ariza, Cartagena, Congojas, Jabacoa, La Unión, Limones, Medidas, Santiago, Soledad and Turquino. Until the 1977 administrative reform, the village of Arriete-Ciego Montero, currently in the municipality of Palmira, was part of it. Palmira, Cuba
Palmira is a municipality and town in the Cienfuegos Province of Cuba. The town proper has a population of circa 14,000, the whole municipality 33,153. History It was founded in 1879 under the name ''Las Casas''. The name was changed to Palmira and the community was incorporated in 1940. Geography Located in the middle of its province, Palmira is 12 km far from Cienfuegos, 16 from Cruces, and 52 from Santa Clara. It is bordered by the municipalities of Rodas, Lajas, Cruces, Cumanayagua and Cienfuegos. In 1943 the municipality was divided into the barrios of Primero, Segundo, Arango y Escarza.
