Dalkhan Khozhaev
Dalkhan Abdulazizovich Khozhaev (18 April 1961 – 26 July 2000) was a Chechen historian, field commander, brigadier general and author with numerous works on the centuries-old confrontation between Chechnya and Russia, as well as the First Chechen War. He commanded a special brigade and was loyal to Ruslan Gelayev. Early life Dalkhan Khozhaev was born on 18 April 1961 in Grozny into the Chechen teip of Benoy. Dalkhan's father Abdul-Aziz Khozhaev was a commercial worker and his mother Zura Bibulatova was a Chechen and Russian language teacher. Both of his parents came from Novye Atagi. In 1983 he graduated from the faculty of History of the Chechen-Ingush State University. Between 1985 - 1991, he was a methodologist of the station of young tourists, as well as a researcher at the Chechen-Ingush Republican Regional Museum. Grozny
Grozny ( rus, Грозный, p=ˈgroznɨj; ce, Соьлжа-ГӀала, translit=Sölƶa-Ġala), also spelled Groznyy, is the capital city of Chechnya, Russia. The city lies on the Sunzha River. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 271,573 — up from 210,720 recorded in the 2002 census, but still only about two-thirds of 399,688 recorded in the 1989 census. Arbi Alautdinovich Barayev ( ce, Арби Алаутдинович Бараев; 27 May 1974 – 22 June 2001) was a Chechen warlord and terrorist, who in 1996 became the founder and first leader of the Special Purpose Islamic Regiment (SPIR) in Chechnya. Nicknamed The Terminator, Barayev and the SPIR were regarded as one of the main violent criminal organizations operating in Chechnya during the lawless interwar period that followed the 1994–1996 First Chechen War, driving out foreign journalists and humanitarian workers, while undermining the presidency of Aslan Maskhadov during Chechnya's ''de facto'' independence until 1999. Ruslan (Hamzat) Gelayev (russian: Руслан (Хамзат) Гелаев; was a prominent commander in the Chechen people, Chechen separatist movement against Russia, in which he played a significant, yet controversial, military and political role in the 1990s and early 2000s. Gelayev was commonly viewed as an ''abrek'' and a well-respected, ruthless fighter. His operations spread well beyond the borders of Chechnya and even outside the Russian Federation and into Georgia (country), Georgia.
