Dalian Metro
The Dalian Metro is a rapid transit system in the city of Dalian, Liaoning, China. The metro system opened on 1 May 2003. The system currently in operation consists of 6 lines: Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 5, Line 12, and Line 13. Lines in operation Line 1 Line 1, which opened in 2015, connects east southeast central Dalian with north Dalian. The total length is , with 22 underground stations. This line will run from Phoenix Peak to the Development Zone. Dalian
Dalian ( ) is a major sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the third-most populous city of Northeast China (after Shenyang and Harbin). Located on the southern tip of the Liaodong peninsula, it is the southernmost city in both Liaoning and the entire Northeast. Shimao Station (Dalian Metro)
Shimao () is a Neolithic site in Shenmu County, Shaanxi, China. The site is located in the northern part of the Loess Plateau, on the southern edge of the Ordos Desert. It is dated to around 2000 BC, near the end of the Longshan period, and is the largest known walled site of that period in China, at 400 ha. The fortifications of Shimao were originally believed to be a section of the Great Wall of China, but the discovery of jade pieces prompted an archaeological investigation, which revealed that the site was of Neolithic age. The discovery of Shimao has been challenging traditional views favouring the model of the preliminary development of complex societies in the Central Plains. Instead, larger and sophisticated polities such as Shimao already existed outside of the Central Plains, while maintaining independence and inter-connection. Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport
Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport is an international airport being built to serve the city of Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province. Once open, it will replace the existing Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport as the city's main airport. It is being built on a of reclaimed land off the coast of Dalian. Expected to be open by 2025, it is set to become the world's largest offshore airport. Background Dalian is currently served by Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, which has been used for both military and commercial flights since 1924 when Dalian was Japan's leased territory. As air traffic skyrocketed, the airport was expanded four times, in 1992, 1993, 2005, and 2011, and served more than 13 million passengers in 2012, ranking 15th in China. Due to Dalian's rapid expansion, the airport is now surrounded by built-up urban area and has no more room to grow. Dalian Rail Transit
Dalian Rail Transit (; abbreviation: DRT), according to the order of construction, includes the Dalian trams, the ''Dalianren'' light rail and the Dalian Rapid Transit (Dalian Metro). The Dalian Rapid Transit system is divided into the ''Kuaigui'' () and ''Ditie'' (). The Kuaigui is the overground system mainly running in the suburban area, while the Ditie is the underground system operating in the urban area.
