Dalhousie Ward
{{Unreferenced, date=June 2019, bot=noref (GreenC bot) Dalhousie Ward is a former ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was created in 1888 when it was annexed by Ottawa from Nepean Township, becoming Ottawa's eighth ward. It was merged with Wellington Ward in 1994 to become Somerset Ward. It consisted mainly of the neighbourhood of Centretown West, which includes Ottawa's Chinatown and Little Italy. Before it was merged, the ward contained Hintonburg, Mechanicsville and parts of the Civic Hospital and Centretown neighbourhoods. Ottawa
Ottawa (, ; Canadian French: ) is the capital city of Canada. It is located at the confluence of the Ottawa River and the Rideau River in the southern portion of the province of Ontario. Terrence McGuire
Publius Terentius Afer (; – ), better known in English as Terence (), was a Roman Africans, Roman African playwright during the Roman Republic. His comedies were performed for the first time around 166–160 BC. Terentius Lucanus, a Roman Roman Senate, senator, brought Terence to Rome as a slave, educated him and later on, impressed by his abilities, manumission, freed him. It is thought that Terence abruptly died, around the age of 25, likely in Greece or on his way back to Rome, due to shipwreck or disease. Charles Hopewell
Charles Hopewell (September 22, 1861 – May 15, 1931) was mayor of Ottawa from 1909 to 1912.Dave Mullington "Chain of Office: Biographic Sketches of Ottawa's Mayors (1847–1948)" (Renfrew, Ontario: General Store Publishing House, 2005) He was born in March Township in 1861. During his term in office, he negotiated grants in lieu of taxes with the federal government. He also served as magistrate after his term as mayor. Thomas Cleary (24 April 1949 – 20 June 2021) was an American translator and writer of more than 80 books related to Buddhist, Taoist, Confucian, and Muslim classics, and of ''The Art of War'', a treatise on management, military strategy, and statecraft. He has translated books from Pali, Sanskrit, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Old Irish into English. Cleary lived in Oakland, California. Life and work Cleary became interested in Buddhism when he was a teenager; his researches into Buddhist thought began with a desire to learn during this time of his life.
