Dalhousie School
Dalhousie Preparatory School was a private preparatory school in Scotland. Dalhousie was established in 1925 by Kenneth M Mylne at Dalhousie Castle, Bonnyrigg, 8 miles south of Edinburgh. Mylne had previously been headmaster of the preparatory branch of Merchiston Castle School for five years. In 1950 the school moved to new premises at Melville House near Cupar in Fife. The school closed in 1970. Preparatory School (United Kingdom)
A preparatory school (or, shortened: prep school) in the United Kingdom is a fee-charging independent primary school that caters for children up to approximately the age of 13. The term "preparatory school" is used as it ''prepares'' the children for the Common Entrance Examination in order to secure a place at an independent secondary school, typically one of the English public schools. They are also preferred by some parents in the hope of getting their child into a state selective grammar school. Most prep schools are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, which is overseen by Ofsted on behalf of the Department for Education. Chris Baur
Christopher Frank Baur (born 28 May 1942) is Scottish broadcast journalist. Between 1985 and 1988, he was the editor of ''The Scotsman'' newspaper. Education Baur was educated at Dalhousie School, Dalhousie Preparatory School and Strathallan School in Perthshire, Scotland. Career Chris Baur joined the Scotsman as a copy boy in 1960 and trained as a journalist, becoming the industrial reporter in 1963 as well as covering Scottish politics from 1972. In 1973 he was appointed Scottish ≠ correspondent of the ''Financial Times'' and political correspondent of BBC Scotland. During this period, he made a programme for BBC Two called "Power of Scotland" which won the Royal Television Society's Journalism Award for the 'best current affairs documentary programme' of 1978. In 1978 he became an assistant editor at the Scotsman writing on politics and economic affairs.
