Dalgas Boulevard
Dalgas Boulevard is a broad avenue in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from Roskildevej in the south to Femte Juni Plads in the north, intersecting Peter Bangs Vej and Finsensvej on the way. History The road was planned and it was already at this point decided to name it after the officer and road engineer Enrico Dalgas. Construction did not start until 1911. Notable buildings and structures Dalgas Have is one of several campuses of Copenhagen Business School in Frederiksberg. It is from 1889 and was designed by Henning Larsen Architects. Much of the southern part of the street is lined by single family detached homes. No. 45 was designed by Kaj Gottlob. Public art In the central reservation, close to the southern end of the street, stands a bronze cast of Aksel Hansen's sculpture ''Ancient Hunter''. Frederiksberg
Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is formally an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the City of Copenhagen. It occupies an area of less than 9 km2 and had a population of 103,192 in 2015. Frederiksberg is an enclave surrounded by Copenhagen Municipality. Some sources ambiguously refer to Frederiksberg as a quarter or neighbourhood of Copenhagen, being one of the four municipalities that constitute the City of Copenhagen (the other three being Copenhagen, Tårnby and Dragør). However, Frederiksberg has its own mayor and municipal council, and is fiercely independent. Niels August Theodor Kaj Gottlob, usually known as Kaj Gottlob, (9 November 1887 – 12 May 1976) was a Danish architect who contributed much to Neoclassicism and Functionalism both as professor of the School of Architects at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and as a royal building inspector. Early life After qualifying from Borgerdyd School in 1905, Gottlob attended the Technical School (1905-1908) and the Royal Academy, graduating as an architect in 1914. At the time, he was one of the young neoclassicists who used to meet at the Free Architecture Society (''Den fri Architektforening''). Radio24syv (English: "Radio 24 seven") was a Danish public service radio station sending talk radio. The radio station was financed by public money through mandatory licence fees, but was privately owned by Berlingske Media and PeopleGroup. Klovn
''Klovn'' ("Clown") is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank (played by Frank Hvam) and Casper (played by Casper Christensen). The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. ''Klovn'' shares many concepts with the American sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' by Larry David, notably the main concept of a semi-retired comedian encountering humorous and embarrassing situations, along with his wife, friends and celebrity acquaintances. Johannes Bjerg
Johannes Clausen Bjerg (26 January 1886 – 17 February 1955) was a Danish sculptor who worked primarily in the El Greco-style. Early life Born in Ødis near Kolding, Bjerg attended the Latin School in Kolding before serving an apprenticeship with A.L. Johansen & Son in 1907 during which he created an oak bust of his father. Thereafter he spent an extended period in Copenhagen (1908–11) during which he created a silver medal for a bronze bust of his father. In 1911, he went to Paris to associate with progressive artists of the times such as Picasso, leading to his Cubic bronze bust of the Finnish sculptor Bertil Nilsson (1912). Career While in Paris, Bjerg became a member of Section d'Or association, in which Auguste Agero (1880–1945) became a source of Cubic inspiration. Aksel Hansen
Aksel Christian Henrik Hansen (2 September 1853 – 3 May 1933) was a Danish sculptor, one of the most productive of his times. Biography The son of a stonemason, Hansen was born in Odense, Denmark. After an apprenticeship with his father, he studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (1876-1879). He exhibited at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition from 1880. He received the Hielmstierne-Rosencrone and the Ancker scholarships in 1888. He conducted study trips to Italy 1888-89 and to Greece 1904. While following the classical tradition of Herman Wilhelm Bissen, he was also influenced by French Naturalism and the Art Nouveau style. This emerging trend can be seen in his masterpiece, ''Echo'' (1888), in Copenhagen's Rosenborg Castle Gardens, as well as in Gustav Lotze's tomb with its slender female figures in Odense's Assistens Cemetery.
