Dalekvam
Dale () or Dalekvam is the administrative centre of Vaksdal municipality, in Vestland county, Norway. The village lies at the western end of the Bergsdalen valley, about northeast of the village of Stanghelle on the shore of the Veafjorden. The village lies along the European route E16, the Bergen Line (and Dale Station), and the river Daleelva. The village has a population (2019) of 1,193 and a population density of . The small village of Dalegarden at the southern end of Dale is included in the "urban area" of Dale. Dale Church is located in the village. The village is also the site of the international Dale of Norway company which manufactures wool sweaters and outdoor jackets. There is also a textile mill and other small industries. is a municipality in the county of Vestland, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Nordhordland. The administrative centre is the village of Dalekvam. Other villages in Vaksdal include Dalegarden, Flatkvål, Helle, Nesheim, Stamneshella, Stanghelle, and Vaksdal. The municipality is the 160th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Vaksdal is the 205th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 3,867. Veafjorden
Veafjorden (historically, the Vedåfjorden) is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The long fjord flows between the mainland and the island of Osterøy in Vaksdal municipality. There is one bridge across the fjord, the Kallestadsundet Bridge near Stamneshella. The fjord is named after the old ''Veo'' farm, located on the shore of Osterøy island, about north of Stanghelle. The farm sits at the foot of steep mountains and is only accessible by boat or by hiking by foot for to the nearest road. A scene from the movie "The Golden Compass" was filmed along the Veafjorden. Dale Church (Vaksdal)
Dale Church ( no, Dale kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vaksdal Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Dale, Hordaland, Dale. It is the church for the Dale parish which is part of the Hardanger og Voss prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, concrete church was built in a long church design in 1956 using plans drawn up by the architect Arnstein Arneberg. The church seats about 600 people. History In 1895, plans were made to build a chapel in the village of Dale. Peter and Jens Jebsen wrote a letter to the municipal council that ''Dale Fabrikker'', a local industrial business, would pay for the upkeep of the new chapel.
