Dakneshwori Temple
Dakneshwori Temple (Nepali language: डाक्नेश्वरी मन्दिर) is a Hindu temple and Shakti Peethas in South-Eastern Nepal. The primary deity is Dakneshwori. It is situated in the Pato Bazaar , Dakneshwori Municipality, Saptari. It draws Nepali and Indian pilgrims, especially in Bada Dashain, when thousands of goats are sacrificed there. History The temple was reconstructed in the 1990's. Rajbiraj
Rajbiraj ( ne, राजविराज) is a mid-sized municipality located in the south-eastern part of Madhesh Province of Nepal. Rajbiraj is the district headquarters of Saptari and is the eighth largest city in the province. The township of Rajbiraj was designed in 1938 based on influence from the Indian city of Jaipur - thus making it the first township in Nepal to receive urban planning. It was declared a municipality in 1959. Dashain or Bada'dashain, also referred as Bijaya Dashami in Sanskrit, is a major Hindu religious festival in Nepal. The Shakti Pitha or the Shakti Peethas ( sa, शक्ति पीठ, , ''seat of Shakti'') are significant shrines and pilgrimage destinations in Shaktism, the goddess-centric denomination in Hinduism. The shrines are dedicated to various forms of Adi Shakti.
