It was proposed to relocate the zoo to Logan City in 2011, but on 31 March 2014 the zoo relocated to The Big Pineapple. Dakabin State High School opened on 23 January 1978. The Bruce Highway is a major highway in Queensland, Australia. Commencing in the state capital, Brisbane, it passes through areas close to the eastern coast on its way to Cairns in Far North Queensland. Northpine Christian College is an independent Seventh-day Adventist co-educational primary and secondary day school, located at Dakabin, on the north side of Brisbane of Queensland, Australia. The College is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, South Queensland District and is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church's worldwide educational system. History Northpine Christian College has experienced many major changes since it first commenced with just 26 students in January 1940. It began in the hall at the back of the Albion Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brisbane. As enrolments grew, a small school was established at Zillmere in 1953. Alma Park Zoo
Alma Park Zoo was a zoo located north of Brisbane, Australia, in Dakabin on Alma Road. The park was filled with Australian and exotic species. Alma Park Zoo was the oldest zoo in Queensland when it closed in 2014. The zoo was owned by Bill Williams who also owned a business called WW Shock Absorbers, but was built by workers, led by Leroy Pidgeon, who lived with his family in the caretakers cottage in the zoo at the time. Leroy also recovered, transported and replanted many of the mature palm trees that were a statement of the zoo. These came from older farm blocks around Brisbane that were being sub divided in the early 1970s period and Bill Williams had struck deals to acquire them. The zoo closed on 31 March 2014 and many of the animals were transferred to Wildlife HQ Zoo. There were plans for the zoo to open in Logan; however, this plan was cancelled in May 2015. Zillmere is a Suburbs and localities (Australia), suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Zillmere had a population of 8,967 people. Geography As at 2008, Zillmere was approximately 60% residential and 40% industrial. History The Turrbal people occupied the region north of Brisbane River, including the area covered by Zillmere. With European settlement, the area came to be known as Zillman's Waterholes, named after Johann Leopold Zillmann (1813–1892), a Lutheran missionary who served at the mission station nearby at Nundah, Queensland, Nundah. In January 1872, the Brisbane Courier described Zillman's Waterholes as being situated between Cabbage Tree Creek and Downfall Creek.
