Daedalus (Enterprise Episode)
"Daedalus" is the tenth episode of the fourth season of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Enterprise''. Set in the 22nd century, the series follows the adventures of the first Starfleet starship ''Enterprise'', registration NX-01. In this episode, as the crew of ''Enterprise'' help Doctor Emory Erickson (Bill Cobbs) conduct experimental transporter tests, a dangerous anomaly is detected on board. It was the second script written by Alan Brennert and Ken LaZebnik, and was directed by David Straiton - his second of the season. "Daedalus" was a bottle episode which used only the standing sets. Show runner Manny Coto had sought to create an origin story for the transporter with "Daedalus", but was not pleased with either the script or the completed episode. The episode originally aired on January 14, 2005, on UPN. It received a Nielsen rating of 1.9/3 percent. A light-year, alternatively spelled light year, is a large unit of length used to express astronomical distances and is equivalent to about 9.46 trillion kilometers (), or 5.88 trillion miles ().One trillion here is taken to be 1012 (one million million, or billion in long scale). ''Odyssey 5'' is a Canadian science fiction series, which was shown in 2002 on Space in Canada and on Showtime in the United States. The premise involves five space travelers who witness the destruction of the Earth; they are given the opportunity to travel to the past to identify and prevent the cataclysm. ''Odyssey 5'' was created by Manny Coto, who was a scriptwriter and executive producer during the series run. Through his website and in interviews, Coto has expressed his interest in returning to the series at some point, either continuing it or giving it a conclusion. Demolition Man (film)
''Demolition Man'' is a 1993 American science fiction action film directed by Marco Brambilla in his directorial debut. It stars Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Sandra Bullock, and Nigel Hawthorne. Stallone is John Spartan, a risk-taking police officer who has a reputation for causing destruction while carrying out his work. After a failed attempt to rescue hostages from evil crime lord Simon Phoenix (Snipes), they are both sentenced to be Cryopreservation, cryogenically frozen in 1996. Icarus
In Greek mythology, Icarus (; grc, Ἴκαρος, Íkaros, ) was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus, the architect of the labyrinth of Crete. After Theseus, king of Athens and enemy of Minos, escaped from the labyrinth, King Minos suspected that Icarus and Daedalus had revealed the labyrinth's secrets and imprisoned them--either in a large tower overlooking the ocean or the labyrinth itself, depending upon the account. Icarus and Daedalus escaped using wings Daedalus constructed from feathers, threads from blankets, clothes, and beeswax. Daedalus warned Icarus first of complacency and then of hubris, instructing him to fly neither too low nor too high, lest the sea's dampness clog his wings or the sun's heat melt them. Daedalus
In Greek mythology, Daedalus (, ; Greek: Δαίδαλος; Latin: ''Daedalus''; Etruscan: ''Taitale'') was a skillful architect and craftsman, seen as a symbol of wisdom, knowledge and power. He is the father of Icarus, the uncle of Perdix, and possibly also the father of Iapyx. Among his most famous creations are the wooden cow for Pasiphaë, the Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete which imprisoned the Minotaur, and wings that he and his son Icarus used to escape Crete. It was during this escape that Icarus did not heed his father's warnings and flew too close to the sun; the wax holding his wings together melted and Icarus fell to his death. William Francisco Cobbs (born June 16, 1934) is an American actor. He is known for such film roles as Louisiana Slim in '' The Hitter'' (1979), Walter in '' The Brother from Another Planet'' (1984), Reginald in '' Night at the Museum'' (2006) and Master Tinker on ''Oz the Great and Powerful'' (2013). Charles "Trip" Tucker III, portrayed by Connor Trinneer, is a fictional character in the television series ''Star Trek: Enterprise''. "Stigma" is the fortieth episode (production #214) of the television series ''Star Trek: Enterprise'', the fourteenth of the second season.
