Bill Cobbs (cropped)
William Francisco Cobbs (born June 16, 1934) is an American actor. He is known for such film roles as Louisiana Slim in '' The Hitter'' (1979), Walter in '' The Brother from Another Planet'' (1984), Reginald in '' Night at the Museum'' (2006) and Master Tinker on ''Oz the Great and Powerful'' (2013). He played Lewis Coleman on ''I'll Fly Away'' (1991–1993), Jack on ''The Michael Richards Show'' (2000), and had guest appearances on ''Walker, Texas Ranger'' and ''The Sopranos''. In 2020, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Performance in a Daytime Program for the series ''Dino Dana''. Early life Cobbs was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to a mother, Vera, who was a domestic worker and a father, David, who worked in construction. He is the second cousin of James Baskett. ''Get Low'' is a 2009 drama film directed by Aaron Schneider, and written by Chris Provenzano and C. Gaby Mitchell. The Eugene O'Neill Theatre, previously the Forrest Theatre and the Coronet Theatre, is a Broadway theater at 230 West 49th Street in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) is a New York City-based theater company and workshop established in 1967 by playwright Douglas Turner Ward, producer-actor Robert Hooks, and theater manager Gerald S. Krone, with funding from the Ford Foundation. The company's focus on original works with themes based in the black experience with an international perspective created a canon of theatrical works and an audience for writers who came later, such as August Wilson, Suzan-Lori Parks, and others.
