The Volynsky house occupied No. 21 and a small hotel, the "Volkovskie Nomera", occupied No. 23. The present structure was purpose-built as a retail store for the officers of the garrison guard. At the time, officers were paid a high salary and were expected to live a lavish lifestyle. Along these lines, the officers' cooperative felt it appropriate that their store should be no less luxurious than the most fashionable Parisian department stores. An architectural competiti ...

Travis began his broadcasting career on the pirate radio station Radio Caroline in 1965. He moved to BBC Radio 1 where he became one of the station's leading presenters during the 1970s and 1980s, and a regular presenter of ''Top of the Pops''. Following his resignation from the BBC in 1993, he worked for several British commercial radio stations. In November 2012, Travis was arrested by officers from Operation Yewtree on suspicion of historical sexual offences, which he denied. De La Tierra
De La Tierra is a Latin American metal supergroup formed in late 2012 by Brazilian guitarist Andreas Kisser (of Sepultura), Argentine singer and guitarist Andrés Giménez (of A.N.I.M.A.L.), Argentine bassist Sr. Flavio (of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs) and American-born Cuban-Colombian drummer Alex González (of Maná). Their self-titled debut album was released on 14 January 2014, through Roadrunner Records. History The foundations of the group were laid down around 2005 towards the end of A.N.I.M.A.L.'s run when Andrés Giménez and Alex González began discussing the idea of forming a band together, eventually bringing in Sr. Flavio to play bass in 2011 and finalising the lineup in 2012 with the addition of Andreas Kisser on lead guitar. After self-producing their album in several different locations across South America, the group signed to Roadrunner Records and released their debut single, ''Maldita Historia'', on 30 September 2013.

Digital Linear Tape
Digital Linear Tape (DLT; previously called CompacTape) is a magnetic-tape data storage technology developed by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) from 1984 onwards. In 1994, the technology was purchased by Quantum Corporation, who manufactured drives and licensed the technology and trademark. A variant with higher capacity is called Super DLT (SDLT). The lower cost "value line" was initially manufactured by Benchmark Storage Innovations under license from Quantum. Quantum acquired Benchmark in 2002. In 2007 Quantum stopped developing DLT drives, shifting its strategy to LTO. History DEC launched the TK50 tape drive for the MicroVAX II and PDP-11 minicomputers in 1984. This used 22-track CompacTape I cartridges, storing 94 MB per cartridge. The TK50 was superseded in 1987 by the TK70 drive and the 48-track CompacTape II cartridge, capable of storing 294 MB. In 1989, the CompacTape III (later DLTtape III) format was introduced, increasing the number of tracks to 128 and cap ...

Direct Linear Transformation
Direct linear transformation (DLT) is an algorithm which solves a set of variables from a set of similarity relations: : \mathbf_ \propto \mathbf \, \mathbf_   for \, k = 1, \ldots, N where \mathbf_ and \mathbf_ are known vectors, \, \propto denotes equality up to an unknown scalar multiplication, and \mathbf is a matrix (or linear transformation) which contains the unknowns to be solved. This type of relation appears frequently in projective geometry. Practical examples include the relation between 3D points in a scene and their projection onto the image plane of a pinhole camera, and homographies. Introduction An ordinary system of linear equations : \mathbf_ = \mathbf \, \mathbf_   for \, k = 1, \ldots, N can be solved, for example, by rewriting it as a matrix equation \mathbf = \mathbf \, \mathbf where matrices \mathbf and \mathbf contain the vectors \mathbf_ and \mathbf_ in their respective columns. Given that there exists a unique ...

Distributed Language Translation
Distributed Language Translation ( eo, Distribuita Lingvo-Tradukado, DLT) was a project to develop an interlingual machine translation system for twelve European languages. It ran between 1985 and 1990. :The distinctive feature of DLT was the use of version ofEsperanto as an intermediate language (IL) and the idea that translation could be divided into two stages: from L1 into IL and then from IL into L2. The intermediate translation could be transmitted over a network to any number of workstations which would take care of the translation from IL into the desired language. Since the IL format would have been disambiguated at the source, it could itself serve as a source for further translation without human intervention. — Job M. van Zuijlen (one of the DLT researchers) DLT was undertaken by the Dutch software house BSO (now part of Atos Origin) in Utrecht in cooperation with the now defunct Dutch airplane manufacturer Fokker and the Universal Esperanto Association. The pr ...

Distributed Ledger Technology
A distributed ledger (also called a shared ledger or distributed ledger technology or DLT) is the consensus of replicated, shared, and synchronized digital data that is geographically spread (distributed) across many sites, countries, or institutions. In contrast to a centralized database, a distributed ledger does not require a central administrator, and consequently does not have a single (central) point-of-failure. In general, a distributed ledger requires a peer-to-peer (P2P) computer network and consensus algorithms so that the ledger is reliably replicated across distributed computer nodes (servers, clients, etc.). The most common form of distributed ledger technology is the blockchain (commonly associated with the Bitcoin Bitcoin ( abbreviation: BTC; sign: ₿) is a decentralized digital currency that can be transferred on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network. Bitcoin transactions are verified by network nodes through cryptography and recorded in a public distr ... c ...

International Conference On Developments In Language Theory
DLT, the International Conference on Developments in Language Theory is an academic conference in the field of computer science held annually under the auspices of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science. Like most theoretical computer science conferences its contributions are strongly peer-reviewed; the articles appear in proceedings published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Extended versions of selected papers of each year's conference appear in international journals, such as Theoretical Computer Science and International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science. Topics of the conference Typical topics include: * grammars, acceptors and transducers for words, trees and graphs * algebraic theories of automata * algorithmic, combinatorial and algebraic properties of words and languages * variable length codes * symbolic dynamics * cellular automata * polyominoes and multidimensional patterns * decidability questions * image manipulation an ...

Hydroxycarbamide
Hydroxycarbamide, also known as hydroxyurea, is a medication used in sickle-cell disease, essential thrombocythemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, polycythemia vera, and cervical cancer. In sickle-cell disease it increases fetal hemoglobin and decreases the number of attacks. It is taken by mouth. Common side effects include bone marrow suppression, fevers, loss of appetite, psychiatric problems, shortness of breath, and headaches. There is also concern that it increases the risk of later cancers. Use during pregnancy is typically harmful to the baby. Hydroxycarbamide is in the antineoplastic family of medications. It is believed to work by blocking the making of DNA. Hydroxycarbamide was approved for medical use in the United States in 1967. It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines. Hydroxycarbamide is available as a generic medication. Medical uses Hydroxycarbamide is used for the following indications: * Myeloproliferative disease (primarily ...
