DJ Scotch Egg
Shigeru Ishihara, better known by the stage name DJ Scotch Egg, is a Japanese producer of chiptune/ gabba music based in Berlin, Germany. He has released music on the Wrong Music label and Adaadat, and was signed to Load Records after Lightning Bolt were impressed by his music. A new album entitled ''Scotch Hausen'' was released in Spring 2007. Contributions with other artists include Ove-Naxx, Hrvatski (Keith Fullerton Whitman), Mike Paradinas, Duracell, Bong-Ra, The Pipettes and The Go! Team. Shige has recorded improvised music collaboratively with Ashley Marlowe and Sam Dook under the moniker Same Things. Two tracks have so far been released through Junior Aspirin Records. The Pipettes
The Pipettes were a British indie pop girl group formed in 2003 in Brighton by Robert "Monster Bobby" Barry. The group has released two albums, '' We Are The Pipettes'', and '' Earth vs. The Pipettes'' and released numerous singles to support it; the most successful being "Pull Shapes" which peaked at No. 26 in the UK Singles Chart. The group was active from 2003 to 2011. The group was originally composed of Julia Clarke-Lowes, Rose Elinor Dougall and Rebecca Stephens. At the time of their debut album Clarke-Lowes had been replaced by Gwenno Saunders. In 2008, Dougall and Stephens also left the group. By 2010, the line-up consisted of Gwenno Saunders and her sister Ani. Their album ''Earth vs. The Pipettes'' was released on 6 October 2010 in the UK. KFC Core
KFC Core is the debut album from Tokyo-Brighton based artist DJ Scotch Egg. The album contains 12 tracks of chiptune and breakcore music which was allegedly recorded with a Game Boy, a loudspeaker, and effects pedals. The album also includes the song 'KFC Song', a song of Barbershop music which includes The Pipettes and The Go! Team (that also featured as the B-side to The Pipettes' 7" single of ' Judy'). Wrong Music
Breakcore is a style and microgenre of electronic dance music that emerged from jungle, hardcore, and drum and bass in the mid-to-late 1990s. It is characterized by very complex and intricate breakbeats and a wide palette of sampling sources played at high tempos. History As the early days of "hardcore techno" or just "hardcore" began to settle in Europe, breakcore as a genre began to take more concrete forms in other parts of the world.
