DJ Mehdi
Mehdi Favéris-Essadi (20 January 1977 – 13 September 2011), better known by his stage name DJ Mehdi, was a French hip hop and house music producer and DJ. He was signed to the label Ed Banger Records, founded by his friend Pedro Winter, in which he released in 2006 his album ''Lucky Boy'', also the label's debut album. Biography Mehdi was born of Tunisian background in Hauts-de-Seine, the northwestern suburbs of Paris. He was a former disc jockey of the groups Different Teep (ex-group of and Lil Jahson), Idéal J and former member of the collective the Mafia K'1 Fry. He was also a long time the quasi-appointed producer of the group 113 and carried out nearly all the production of the albums for Different Teep and Karlito. Asnières-sur-Seine () is a Communes of France, commune in the Hauts-de-Seine Departments of France, department and Île-de-France Regions of France, region of north-central France. It lies on the left bank of the river Seine, some eight kilometres from the Kilometre zero#France, centre of Paris in the north-western Banlieue, suburbs of the French capital. Asian Dub Foundation (ADF) is an English electronic music band that combines musical styles including rap rock, dub, dancehall, ragga, and South Asian music. 113 is a French hip hop group, including African and Caribbean roots originating in North and West Africa and the island of Guadeloupe, formed in their most famous song "Tonton du Bled" ("Uncle From The Land"; 'bled' being a term from Maghrebi Arabic). ''Donuts'' is the second and final studio album by the American hip hop producer J Dilla, released on February 7, 2006, by Stones Throw Records. It was released on the day of his 32nd birthday, three days before his death. The album was recorded in 2005, largely during J Dilla's extended stay at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center due to complications from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and lupus. Henry Smithson (born 13 September 1978), best known by his stage name Riton ( ), is an English electronic music DJ and producer from Newcastle upon Tyne. Early life and education Smithson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne. The name ''Riton'' is French slang for "Henry". He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Career After finishing university, Smithson started the Switch Recordings label, upon which he released his first two 12" singles. He began DJing at Newcastle's "Shindig" nightclub.
