The DGC Open is a golf tournament on the Asian Tour held at Delhi Golf Club in Delhi, India. History The inaugural event was the first international golf tournament in India since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Gary Player, who recently finished a revamp of the course, was in attendance as Nitithorn Thippong claimed his maiden Asian Tour title after winning a playoff against Ajeetesh Sandhu with a birdie on the first extra hole. The 2023 event was won by Miguel Tabuena. Nitithorn Thippong
Nitithorn Thippong (; born 15 October 1996) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Asian Tour. Professional career Thippong turned professional in 2015. In 2018, Thippong got his first win on the Asian Development Tour at the PGM Penang Championship in Penang, Malaysia. He finished the season second in the Order of Merit to gain a place on the Asian Tour for 2019. In 2022, Thippong won his first Asian Tour title at the DGC Open in New Delhi, India. He beat Ajeetesh Sandhu in a playoff. Later in August 2022, Thippong won his second Asian Tour event at the International Series Singapore. The 2022 Asian Tour was the 27th season of the modern Asian Tour, the main men's professional golf tour in Asia excluding Japan, since it was established in 1995. Rashid Khan (born 15 February 1991) is an Indian professional golfer. As an amateur, Khan played on the Indian team that won the silver medal at the 2010 Asian Games. Khan turned professional later that year and has played on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) since 2011. He finished third on the Order of Merit (money list) in 2011, second in 2012, and first in 2013. He has won four times on the PGTI. Khan began playing on the Asian Tour in 2012. Gary James Player DMS, OIG (born 1 November 1935) is a South African retired professional golfer who is widely considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. During his career, Player won nine major championships on the regular tour and nine major championships on the Champions Tour. The Delhi Golf Club (DGC) is a prominent golf club situated in Delhi, India. It has ultra restrictive membership, with well over a waiting period of over 50 years for prospective members.
