DEKALB Superspiel
The DeKalb Superspiel is a curling bonspiel that takes place at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Manitoba. It was an event on the World Curling Tour until 2019 and the Manitoba Curling Tour, and also takes part in the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS). There is a men's and women's event. The event began in 2009 and is annually held usually the third weekend in November but is subject to changes if the WCT or MCA has a conflicting bonspiel. Morris, Manitoba
Morris is a small town in the Pembina Valley region of Manitoba, Canada, located 51 km south of Winnipeg and 42 km north of Emerson. Morris is home to 1,885 people (2016). Named after Alexander Morris, the second Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Highway 75, which turns into Interstate 29, is the major highway which runs from Winnipeg to Missouri. Morris is the only town in which Highway 75 is called "Main Street". The town of Morris is mostly surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Morris, except for a relatively small eastern border with the northwest corner of the Rural Municipality of Montcalm, across the Red River of the North. The 2011 DEKALB Superspiel was held on March 17–21 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Manitoba. Charley Thomas
Charley M. Thomas (born April 4, 1986 in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Calgary who currently skips his own rink on the World Curling Tour. Curling career Thomas started his career with an Alberta Provincial Junior title in 2004 and made his debut on the national and international curling scene representing Alberta and winning the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and 2006 World Junior Curling Championships (Jeonju, Korea). Thomas and team also qualified for the 2007 Canadian Junior Curling Championships by winning the 2007 Alberta Junior Provincials at the Granite Curling Club in Edmonton, Alberta. Reid Carruthers
Reid Carruthers (born December 30, 1984) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Carruthers was the 2011 world champion—winning gold as a second on Jeff Stoughton's team—as well as a six-time provincial champion, the 2003 junior provincial champion, and the 2008 Manitoba provincial mixed champion. Carruthers currently skips a Winnipeg-based rink on the World Curling Tour. He also coaches the Kerri Einarson women's team. Career As a junior curler, Carruthers skipped Manitoba at the 2003 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. He would lead the team to a 4-8 round robin record. Alexander Attinger
Alexander Attinger (born 8 January 1986) is a Swiss curler from Dübendorf. Attinger has played in one international event, the 2006 World Junior Curling Championships. He was the alternate on the Swiss team, but ended up playing in six games. The team, skipped by Christian von Gunten finished in 8th place. Attinger has played on the World Curling Tour since 2007 when he played in that year's Swiss Cup Basel. William Lyburn
William Lyburn (born May 8, 1975 in Dumfries, Scotland) is a Scottish-Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Lyburn won the Scottish junior title with his older brother Allan Lyburn in 1992 and going to the 1992 World Junior Championships where they would finish 6th. He and his family would move to Canada a short time later. He then went on to assist his brother again, this time when he was the 5th for the Rob Fowler team at the 2012 Tim Hortons Brier where his brother was playing third.
