Kang Dae-sung (Hangul: 강대성; born April 26, 1989), better known mononymously as Daesung and his Japanese stage name D-Lite, is a South Korean singer, actor and television personality who made his musical debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band Big Bang under the record label YG Entertainment. He debuted as a solo artist in South Korea with the number one trot song "Look at Me, Gwisoon" in 2008. Since the inception of the Gaon Digital Chart in 2010, Daesung achieved two Top 10 songs, the digital single "Cotton Candy" and "Wings" from the Big Bang album '' Alive'' (2012). In 2013, he released his first solo album in Japan, ''D'scover'', under the label YGEX and embarked on his first Japanese tour. The following year, he released two more albums, ''D'slove'' and his first chart-topper, '' Delight.'' ''D'scover'' is the debut Japanese studio album by South Korean artist, Daesung, also known by his Japanese stage name, D-Lite, member and main vocalist of boy band Big Bang. The album consists of a number of rearrangements and remakes of Japanese songs as well as multiple original pieces and was released on February 27, 2013. Background Following the success of Big Bang's fifth mini-album, '' Alive'', and their world tour, the members decided to pursue solo activities. During this time, the leader of Big Bang, G-Dragon released his first mini-album and plans were made for another solo album by vocalist, Taeyang. The remaining members, T.O.P and Seungri, undertook ventures away from music such as acting and hosting and guesting on Japanese variety TV shows. ''D-Day'' is the second Japanese extended play of South Korean artist, Daesung, also known by his Japanese stage name, D-Lite, member of boy band Big Bang. The album was released digitally on March 28 and physically on April 12, 2017. Background and composition In December 2016, Daesung's first Dome Tour was announced, with shows in the Japanese cities of Saitama and Osaka. In support of this tour, a new album's name and release date was announced in February of the following year. Itaewon (; IPA ) is multi-cultural commercial area located in Seoul, South Korea. it is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Seoul, known for its nightlife and trendy restaurants. Etymology The name Itaewon was originally derived from the name of an inn located there during the Joseon Dynasty. Today it's called Itaewon alluding to its abundance of pear trees (梨泰院). According to a folktale, the name was also written using different Hanja characters that alluded to foreign babies (異胎院). When the Japanese invaded Seoul (1592–1593) during the Imjin War a group of Japanese soldiers seized a Buddhist temple in what is now Itaewon where Buddhist nuns lived.
