Curt Nicolin
Curt René Nicolin (10 March 1921 – 8 September 2006) was a Swedish businessman. He served as the chairman of ASEA and the Swedish Employers Association. Early life Nicolin was born on 10 March 1921 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Felix Nicolin and his wife Anna Lisa (née Rehné). He passed ''studentexamen'' at Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket in 1941 and graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1945. Career Nicolin was recruited by the Wallenberg family as an engineer at Svenska Turbinfabriks AB Ljungström (STAL) in Finspång the same year, to lead the development of a Swedish jet engine. He got acquainted with Fredrik Ljungström, thanks to whom he debuted at the Nobel Banquet, and for whom he later authored an obituary. Nicolin became vice CEO and technical manager there in 1953. Order Of Vasa
The Royal Order of Vasa () is a Swedish order of chivalry, awarded to citizens of Sweden for service to state and society especially in the fields of agriculture, mining and commerce. It was instituted on 29 May 1772 by King Gustav III. It was unrestricted by birth or education and could therefore be awarded to anyone (as opposed to the Order of the Polar Star, which was intended as a reward for the learned professions). It was the most junior of all the Swedish orders. It was often awarded to Norwegian subjects of the dual monarchy until Oscar I founded the Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 1847.
