Crimewatch (Singaporean TV Series)
''Crimewatch'' is a Singaporean television programme produced by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) in collaboration with the Singapore Police Force (SPF). It is aired on Mediacorp's Channel 5, Channel 8, Suria and Vasantham. Presented by actual serving regular police officers, it showcases the work of the Singapore Police Force including the re-enactments of major solved cases, appeals for unsolved cases, as well as general crime prevention advice in a Singaporean context. The series first premiered on the English-language Channel 5 on 30 November 1986. Subsequent dubbings of Singapore's other official languages began with Mandarin (''绳之以法'') on 7 December on Channel 8 that year. Factual television is a genre of non-fiction television programming that documents actual events and people. ''Crime Watch'' is a Trinbagonian television program presented by host Ian Alleyne, to help profile and assist law enforcement in the apprehension of fugitives wanted for various crimes, including murder, rape, kidnapping, child molestation, white collar crime, organized crime, armed robbery and gang violence. The show airs 6PM weekdays on CNC3. It is currently one of the most popular programs in Trinidad and Tobago. History Crime Watch started on WIN TV in 2008 airing Thursdays at 6PM. ''Crimecall'' is a television show broadcast once monthly on RTÉ. It is co-produced in Dublin, Ireland by Green Ink Ltd and 360 Production South Ltd. Since January 2018, the show is presented by Sharon Ní Bheoláin. It is a second RTÉ adaptation of German crime programme ''Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst'', and its format matches that of its United Kingdom, British derivative ''Crimewatch'' and re-enacts unsolved crimes. ''Efterlyst'' ("Wanted") is a Swedish television program, equivalent of ''America's Most Wanted''. The show plays security camera footage, reconstructions of crimes, and then takes calls and tips from the Swedish public. Since it was first aired, ''Efterlyst'' has led to the identification and arrest of many of Sweden's most noted criminals. ''Linha Direta'' (lit. ''Direct Line'') was a Brazilian television program broadcast by Globo Network. Similar in style and loosely based on the United States program, ''America's Most Wanted'', this program has also helped the Brazilian authorities apprehend many criminals at large trying to escape justice. The program was cancelled in 2007. There were two special editions of the program: ''Linha Direta Justiça'' that presented famous Brazilian crimes, like the Candelária massacre, the death of Josef Mengele and the Jules Rimet theft on Rio de Janeiro; and the ''Linha Direta Mistério'', about stories of the supernatural, like the Operação Prato, the legend of the thirteen souls that died on the Joelma fire and cases of NDE. ''India's Most Wanted'' (IMW) was a crime busting fugitive hunter television show initially on Zee TV and later on DD1, India's national broadcaster Doordarshan. The show was made famous by its Anchor-Director and Producer, Suhaib Ilyasi with his unique presentation style and criminals actually being caught with the help of television. The show is considered to be the first and the biggest crime show on television in India. This program has shown live telecasts and helped police with 135 fugitives. ''Crimewatch'' (formerly ''Crimewatch UK'') is a British television programme produced by the BBC, that reconstructs major unsolved crimes in order to gain information from the public which may assist in solving the case. The programme was originally broadcast once a month on BBC One, although in the final years before cancellation it was usually broadcast roughly once every two months.
