Cricket In Iran
Cricket in Iran is a fledgling sport growing in popularity, especially with youth and women. The Under-16's promoted to and participated at the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in 2012 followed by a participation at the 2014 event. Women's national team promoted to and participated at the ACC Women's Premier Cup in 2014. Iran's playing season runs from September to April. There are 25 cricket clubs. Taft, Yazd
Taft ( fa, تفت) is a city in and the capital of Taft County, Yazd Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 15,329, in 4,265 families. History In the 15th century, Taft was home to Sufi poet Shah Nimatullah Wali. Following the Iranian Constitutional Revolution of 1906, a rebellion broke out in Taft, led by Mohammad Bana, who with his armed bandits briefly took over the government seat in Yazd. Mashhad
Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. The Āzādi Sport Complex ( fa, مجموعه ورزشی آزادی) formerly known as Āryāmehr Sports Complex ( fa, مجموعه ورزشی آریامهر) is the national sports complex of Iran based in Tehran. It is the biggest sports complex in Iran. The massive Azadi Stadium is located within the walls of this complex. Zahedan
Zahedan ( Balochi and fa, , ' ) is a city and capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 587,730. The city was the site of a deadly crackdown in October 2022, with dozens citizens killed by pro-governmental forces. Over 90 people were killed. Two senior police officials were fired in the aftermath of the crackdown. On 28 October, there were protests in Zahedan and security forces fired on protestors, killing 1 and injuring 14.
