Creation Fest, Woolacombe, Devon
Creation Fest is a free Christian music festival, which takes place on the first weekend of August in the Royal Cornwall Showground, Cornwall, England. Prior to 2009 it was held in neighbouring Devon. History The California-based Calvary Chapel established a church 'plant' (a new congregation) in Woolacombe, North Devon, in 2000. The following year the church members were given a vision to put on a Christian music festival, and Creation Fest was born. The first festival was in the summer of 2002 as a one-day event and has grown as an event to a three-day festival. The festival was originally based in Woolacombe, and ministered to the people of North Devon as well as people from all over the world. The organisers want to see local churches getting involved as much as possible and for the event to be a blessing and a reaping ground for those churches. Calvary Chapel is an association of evangelical churches, maintains a number of radio stations around the world and operates many local Calvary Chapel Bible College programs. Beginning in 1965 in Southern California, this fellowship of churches grew out of Chuck Smith's Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Woolacombe
Woolacombe is a seaside resort on the coast of North Devon, England, which lies at the mouth of a valley (or "combe") in the parish of Mortehoe. The beach is long, sandy, gently sloping and faces the Atlantic Ocean near the western limit of the Bristol Channel. Tourism Woolacombe is a popular destination for surfing and family holidays and is part of the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach has been managed by Parkin Estates Ltd since the 1970s and has over the years been recognised as one of the best beaches in Europe. North Devon is a local government district in Devon, England. North Devon Council is based in Barnstaple. Other towns and villages in the North Devon District include Braunton, Fremington, Ilfracombe, Instow, South Molton, Lynton and Lynmouth. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music.
