Craig George Boardman (born 30 November 1970) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Career Born in Barnsley, Boardman began his career with Nottingham Forest, making one appearance in the League Cup in September 1991. After a brief spell with Peterborough United, in which he made just one Cup appearance, Boardman signed for non-League side Halifax Town, before returning to the Football League with Scarborough during the 1995–96 season. Boardman later played non-League football with a number of teams including Stalybridge Celtic, Halifax Town, Sheffield, Ossett Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels. Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. As the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. In Barnsley, the population was 96,888 while the wider Borough has seen an increase of 5.8%, from 231,200 in 2011 census to 244,600 in 2021 census. George Boardman (footballer, Born 1904)
George Boardman (born 20 October 1904) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Partick Thistle, Bradford (Park Avenue) and Nairn County, mainly as an inside forward although he also featured at centre half and centre forward. He played for Partick in the 1930 Scottish Cup Final which they lost to Rangers after a replay, but did manage to claim winner's medals with the ''Jags'' in the Glasgow Merchants Charity Cup in 1927 and the one-off Glasgow Dental Hospital Cup in 1928, both against the same opponents. George Boardman (born 14 August 1943) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as an inside forward. Active in both Scotland and England between 1960 and 1973, Boardman made over 350 League appearances, scoring nearly 100 goals. Playing career Born in Glasgow, Boardman began his career with Petershill, before playing in the Scottish Football League with Queen's Park, and in the English Football League with Shrewsbury Town and Barnsley. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
