Copa Verde
The Copa Verde ( en, Green Cup) is an annual regional knockout football competition in Brazil that started in 2014, and played by 24 teams from the North and Central-West regions, plus Espírito Santo (Espírito Santo state was included because they competed in the old Copa Centro Oeste). Initially, the champion of the tournament gained a place in the next year's Copa Sudamericana. With the changes implemented by CONMEBOL in 2016 causes a competition no longer qualify in Copa Sudamericana from edition. The champion will now have a spot in the third round of the Copa do Brasil of the following year. The cup is organized by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), with two-legged playoff games played from between the 24 participating teams. 2015 Copa Verde
The 2015 Copa Verde was the 2nd edition of a football competition held in Brazil, featuring 16 clubs. Pará has three clubs; Amazonas, Distrito Federal, and Mato Grosso have two each; and Acre, Amapá, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rondônia, Roraima, and Tocantins each have one. In the finals, Mato Grosso's team Cuiabá defeated Pará's team Remo 6–5 on aggregate to win their first title and earn the right to play in the 2016 Copa Sudamericana. Brasília
Brasília (; ) is the federal capital of Brazil and seat of government of the Federal District. The city is located at the top of the Brazilian highlands in the country's Central-West region. 2014 Copa Verde Finals
The 2014 Copa Verde Finals was the final two-legged tie that decided the 2014 Copa Verde, the 1st season of the Copa Verde, Brazil's regional cup football tournament organised by the Brazilian Football Confederation. The finals were contested in a two-legged home-and-away format between Paysandu, from Pará, and Brasília, from Distrito Federal. Paysandu won the first leg 2–1, and Brasília won the second leg by the same score, which meant the title was decided by a penalty shoot-out, which Brasília won 7–6 to claim their first Copa Verde title. However, on 28 July 2014, the title was awarded to Paysandu, due to irregularities of the squad of Brasília. Brasília appealed against this decision, and obtained a suspension which reversed this decision temporarily.
