Conrad Arnesen
Conrad Arnesen (May 5, 1891 – May 25, 1955) was a Norwegian actor and opera singer. Arnesen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo). He made his film debut in 1922 in Erling Eriksen's ''Kjærlighet paa pinde'', in which he played one of the film's three main roles together with August Schønemann and Ellen Sinding. In 1938, Arnesen had a minor role in Toralf Sandø and Knut Hergel's film ''Bør Børson Jr.'' He was also active with the Oslo New Theater in the 1920s and 1930s, and with Oslo's Opera Comique, where he worked under Benno Singer. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Benno Singer
Bernhard Henry "Benno" Singer (28 February 1875 – 17 May 1934) was a Hungarian-born British entertainment administrator. He was born in Budapest, and settled in London from the age of eleven. He was married twice, first to Evelyn Mary Davis, and later to Mella Marie Schmidt. Singer was responsible for the entertainment at the 1914 Jubilee Exhibition in Kristiania, Norway. He was a central person in the entertainment industry in Kristiania from 1914. He established and managed the revue stage Theatre Moderne in Kristiania from 1914 to 1925. The first revue staged on Theatre Moderne was ''Futt'' from 1915, which is remembered for August Schønemann's breakthrough as comedian. Opera Comique (Oslo)
The Opera Comique was Norway's first permanent opera company. The company operated at Stortingsgata ('Parliament Street') no. 16 and existed from 1918 to 1921. Its first major production was ''Tannhäuser'' with tenor Erling Krogh in the starring role. Altogether, the company staged 26 operas, including the Norwegian opera ''Bruderovet'' (The Kidnapped Bride) by Gerhard Schjelderup. Oslo Nye Teater
Oslo Nye Teater is a theater located in Oslo, Norway. The theater has its main stage in its own theater house at Rosenkrantz' gate 10. It is one of Norway's most visited theatres. Oslo Nye Teater AS is wholly owned by Oslo Municipality. History The theater opened as Det Nye Teater on February 26, 1929. Architects Gudolf Blakstad (1893–1985) and Jens Dunker (1898–1984) were engaged to design the building resulting in a concrete building in a simplified neoclassical style. Ellen Sinding
Ellen Sinding (born ''Ellen Buttedahl''; April 17, 1899 – April 18, 1980) was a Norwegian actress and dancer. Sinding was born in Haugesund, the daughter of the actor and sculptor Sæbjørn Buttedahl and the actress Clare Petrea Margrethe Benelli (1871–1933). She debuted as an actress in 1922 in the film '' Kjærlighet paa pinde''. During the 1920s, Sinding also appeared in the films ''Til sæters'' (1924), '' Den nye lensmannen'' (1926), and '' Fjeldeventyret'' and '' Syv dage for Elisabeth'' (both in 1927).
