''Confident Music for Confident People'' is the debut studio album by Australian electro pop band, Confidence Man. It was released on 13 April 2018 and peaked at number 31 on the ARIA Charts. The album was written and produced by the band and was supported with an Australian and international tour that ran from February to August 2018. At the AIR Awards of 2019, the album won Best Independent Dance/Electronica Album. Reception On Metacritic, the album scored an 80/100 from 6 reviews which the website regards as being "generally favourable reviews". Neil Z. Yeung from AllMusic said "The party doesn't stop on Confidence Man's irrepressibly upbeat debut. Confidence Man (band)
Confidence Man are an Australian indie electro pop band formed in 2016 in Brisbane, Queensland. They released their debut album '' Confident Music for Confident People'' in April 2018. The front-duo and their band members have been a part of many festivals across Australia, most notably Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival. Background 2016-2022: Formation, ''Confident Music for Confident People'' and ''Tilt'' The band was formed in 2016. The members had met on the Brisbane music scene, and had been in other bands including: The Belligerents, Moses Gunn Collective and The Jungle Giants, and use pseudonyms in Confidence Man. They started writing dance songs together, initially as a "kind of joke", but eventually realised the material was worth pursuing. Jagwar Ma is an Australian psychedelic dance band formed in Sydney in 2011. It consists of Gabriel Winterfield (lead vocalist, guitarist), Jono Ma (guitar, beats, synths, production), and bass guitarist Jack Freeman, who joined 2012. The band name is derived from a satirical compound of the word "jaguar" and Jono's surname. In 2013, Jagwar Ma signed with record labels Mom+Pop (US), Marathon Artists (EU), and Future Classic (Australia) and released its debut album ''Howlin''. Hot Chip are an English synthpop band formed in London in 1995. The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. They are occasionally joined by former member Rob Smoughton for live performances and studio recordings. The group primarily produces music in the synth-pop and alternative dance genres, drawing influences from house and disco. Beck David Hansen (born Bek David Campbell; July 8, 1970) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame in the early 1990s with his experimental and lo-fi style, and became known for creating musical collages of wide-ranging genres. Le Tigre (, ; French for "The Tiger") is an American electronic rock band formed by Kathleen Hanna (of Bikini Kill), Johanna Fateman and Sadie Benning in 1998 in New York City. CSS (an initialism of Cansei de Ser Sexy) (, in São Paulo, English lit. "Tired of being sexy") is a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. The band was labeled as part of the explosion of the new rave scene. Their songs are in both English and Portuguese.
