Communications In The Marshall Islands
This article is about communications systems in the Marshall Islands. In 2010, the Majuro and Kwajalein Atoll were connected to the Internet using the HANTRU-1 undersea communications cable to provide high-speed bandwidth. Faster Internet service was rolled out to Majuro and Ebeye on April 1, 2010. The majority of communication is under the responsibility of ''Marshall Islands National Telecommunications Authority''. A satellite or artificial satellite is an object intentionally placed into orbit in outer space. Except for passive satellites, most satellites have an electricity generation system for equipment on board, such as solar panels or radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs). The American Forces Network (AFN) is a government television and radio broadcast service the U.S. military provides to those stationed or assigned overseas. Headquartered at Fort George G.
